German bands

I Fancied looking into see what decent german acts are about.

Hard to find a list on the web of popular/up and comming acts. The first act i found are Juli

It's nice enough, but a bit too poprock (eyyyyyyyyy) for my liking. Anyone know of any decent heavier bands or at least something with a bit of umph about them.

I used to listen to Die Artze and Depressive Age a fair bit. Depressive Age's cover of Smalltown Boy is cracking.

Re: German bands

Tony's basically listed all the decent German bands I've found so far - I try to avoid German radio coz it is unbelievably shite.

Groups i've seen mentioned at festivals this year are:

Virginia Jetzt!
Fotos
Wir sind Helden
Sportfreunde Stille
Silbermond
Jan Delay

Probably all shite, but.

And as for Juli, they're the German version of Texas so I'd steer clear.
