| this should probably be in the dance forum, but im no sure! any good (semi-regular) DNB nights still going in glasgow these days?
I remember there used to be on in the liquid rooms on wednesdays, but I havent heard anything for a while. Is that pan-bread now aye?
Just looking for somewhere with a bit of variation in styles of DNB, i.e. that consider playing shit like Ill skillz, Concord Dawn, and Teebee, and not just fucking pendulum and high contrast.

| Re: this should probably be in the dance forum, but im no sure! The one at the Liquid Rooms is finished, aye (I think the Liquid Rooms is also out of business). From what I heard it was an utter joke, most of the time they just played shite house instead, saying "There's not enough drum and bass fans here" as an excuse.
All the regular nights seem to be through in Edinburgh, there's the occasional one off here when a big act plays but other than it, it's pretty dead. I do remember there being a DJ playing DnB every friday at The Lansdowne, but because it's a trendy bar it was mostly chilled out stuff. |

| Re: this should probably be in the dance forum, but im no sure! Aye, I noticed the "for sale/lease" sign up on it today!
That sounds like AIDS.
Where is The Landsdowne exactly? I'm down with the more chilled out/darker DNB rather than the thumping/verging on dance shit anyway.
Whats the regular night in Eboro called do you know dec?
Cheers mate.

Cheers mate. | Altation's very own Pangea host a monthly night in Edinburgh, highly reccomended from what I've heard. Xplicit put on most of their nights in Edinburgh, as do Manga. It's worth having a swatch at the Scottish Drum and Bass forums for info on any nights going on.
The Lansdowne's just off Gt Western Rd, in Landsdowne crescent. |

| Re: this should probably be in the dance forum, but im no sure! lansdowne is a nice place and the guys djing there (future engineers amongst others) are all top blokes, its a bit 'too' nice of a place to get down and dirty tho.
Xplicit are now doing nights in glasgow at the art school, usually big name nights like Fabio, grooverider, klute, etc. theres also a night that runs in a bar ( i forget the name) called Red Alert thats worth checking out.
And yeh, pangea will be hitting glasgow hopefully within the next couple of months. Our first date was set for barfly but fell through, still trying to get a gig there - will hopefully be in the september weekend. will keep you all posted. |
