| Re: Dethklok - The Dethalbum (Metalocalypse album) Wow, you're right... That was a delish burn.
Nah, I like listening to albums without thinking 'OMGZ is there a better album in this genre than this cos if so I must have it!!!111'.
Not to even mention the sheer lack of good comedy metal albums.
Fuckin' fannybaws ye are Tomm.

I think my love may be a little manicaly fanboyish, so not the best person to take reviews off of, but if you dont like this album, even if its grudgingly, you lack a soul.

And even then, I'd still rather be listening to something serious. |

I like GWAR, I like Green Jellÿ, and I quite like Dethklok as well. Sometiems it's alright to have fun. Besides being gimmicky, though, there are some genuinely solid metal tunes on "Dethalbum". I also appreciate how nobody has made music so extreme so accessable to the mainstream before. That's cool. Unless you're one of those guys who hates when "THEY" find out about "OUR" music.
I don't even really like the TV show that much, by the way. The jokes are pretty funny, and my inner metal geek appreciates references to Gorgoroth and Marduk that you're not gonna get on ANY other fairly popular TV show, but I find the atmosphere kinda "awkward". The dialogue and the way the characters interact always strikes me as sort of weird, and prevents me from really getting into it. I know this type of humour is pretty big just now, but I don't dig it much.

| Re: Dethklok - The Dethalbum (Metalocalypse album) No, you can quite happily listen to what you want. That goes for anyone. I'd still rather listen to something else.
I'm fairly certain Dubstep producers take themselves seriously. I don't see how complexity or progression should be be equated into whether or not music is serious (or good, for that matter).
For "comedy metal" I still think Ziltoid The Omniscient is better. |

Dethklok and I are a perfect match. |
