I'll miss Scott Weiland's dancing and inability to sing

Oh and maybe some memorable songs.

Does this mean they will have to find a new singer that was in a reasonable famous band to pad the live set out with more covers?

I actually really like the first four or five tracks. 'Let It Roll' is awesome. With any other band you'd say 'This is overproduced to fuck' and pick up a good bootleg of it to hear a proper raw version, but with Weiland you just end up listening to a live version that has him barking atonally and screaming into a megaphone (and not in a good way, avant-fans).

A bunch of idiots on Blabbermouth have been suggesting Keith Caputo replace Weiland. I can not think of anything more likely to make me sit in a darkened room self-harming for the rest of my days.
I mean, it WON'T happen - even though Keith would be MAD fuckin' up for being in a pretty gash genero-rock band, if the last LOA album is anything to go by - but, still, even the thought of it. *Shudder* No.

Re: Looks like the Velvet Revolver split is official now.

Sebastian made some reference to receiving a 'life-changing call' on a radio show a few weeks ago. It could be this.

Pretty bizarre given how far up Axl's arse he's been in recent years.

As Ollie said above, he was originally in the running but they thought it sounded a bit 80's and told him they wanted to go with an unknown. They then spent the next year searching for someone, gave up and hired Weiland. Shady.

Supposedly Slash finds Sebastian really fucking annoying (which, y'know, he is) but I'm sure he's a ray of fucking sunshine compared to Axl and Weiland.

Na that was because of me. I slapped him upside the head and called him a fanny. He thanked me and says he wished someone had done it years ago.

Aye, a lot of people on Sludge have been saying that, in all seriousness.

Say Caputo joins VR, LOA should get back with Whitfield Crane - You know it makes no sense...

Former frontman man speaks out on split

Former Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland released a statement this morning (April 2) responding to yesterday's comments made by the other members of the band.

As previously reported, Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner released their own statement yesterday, announcing their split with Weiland, blaming 'his
increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems'.

This morning Weiland released the following statement:

"After reading the comment by Duff, Matt, Dave and the illustrious 'GUITAR HERO' Saul Hudson, a.k.a Slash, I find it humorous that the so called four 'founding members' of Velvet Revolver, better known to themselves as 'The Project' before I officially named the band, would decide to move on without me after I had already claimed the group dead in the water on March 20 in Glasgow.

"In response to Slash's comment regarding my commitment, I have to say it is a blatant and tired excuse to cover up the truth. The truth of the matter is that the band had not gotten along on multiple levels for some time. On a musical level, there were moments of joy, inspiration, fun...at times, but let's not forget the multiple trips to rehab every member of the band had taken (with the exception of one member, no need to mention his name)."

Weiland then spoke about his forthcoming reunion tour with Stone Temple Pilots:

"Personally speaking, I choose to look forward to the future and performing with a group of friends I have known my entire life, people who have always had my back. This also speaks to my commitment to my music and my fellow band mates in STP and to the fans who I feel would much rather watch a group of musicians who enjoy being together as opposed to a handful of discontents who at one time used to call themselves a gang.

P.S. Don't be fooled by veiled trickery."

He then added cryptically, referring to their search for a new singer:

"P.P.S. Good hunting lads, I think Sebastian Bach would be a fantastic choice."

The group played their last show last night (April 1) together in Amsterdam.
