| Metallica - Death Magnetic With a "Mission Metallica" website set up at http://missionmetallica.com/ promising fans "Experience the album... before it's done" it looks as though Amazon.com have let slip the US release date by prematurely listing the album for pre-ordering before release on the 28th October 2008.
Of course the only confirmed details from the and or record label are that Metallica's new studio album, their ninth to date, will be released "soon". |

| Re: Metallica - Mission:Metallica [to be confirmed] Hehehe.
I didn't totally hate St Anger or anything, but I do quite like a whole loada different shit when it comes to metal. I don't think it was anything outstanding, but I think that if there was another band who wrote that album, it would have likely been received better.
It'll be at least interesting to see what they'll come up with, with Rob Trujillo bein in the band. Also, from reading stuff they've been saying (both the band and a few folk who've been listening to the stuff they've been working through), it could turn out no bad. I think Rick Rubin was a better choice of producer, rather than workin with Bob Rock AGAIN!
Suppose I'll just need to wait and see.......still a fuckin awsome band to see live but

Lars Ulrich said in an interview that it is a certainty that they will play songs to be on the new album when they're on the road, at gigs including Leeds and Reading.

I like Hammet, though, he came across as a genial sort. |

| Re: Metallica - Mission:Metallica [to be confirmed] Aye, this'll be my 6th consecutive Leeds and my 2nd time seeing Metallica there. St Anger was already released last time they played but their set was mostly old stuff. That's one good thing about them, if you don't like the new stuff then you'll only have to hear about 15 minutes of it in their 150 minute set. |
