anyone into indie as much as me?

I used to be right into indie, but now i'm not really so bothered to be honest.

What indie bands did/do you like?

Holy bible might be one the best CD's in my collection actually, and the Pixies will remain eternally in my top 10 bands of all time.

Do you like the Breeders, kim Deals band ? I think they are lovely, but dont buy the CD's cause I want them.

I've not really heard enough to judge them yet, but some of the stuff I've heard was pretty cool, I dont have any of it at home, its at a mates house in his collection.

The core problem with Indie is its strong assosation with ned culture. Ever since Oasis(who I actually like) Indie moved from its underground roots into the mainstream where it was appriciated and perverted by its new target audience Neds.
Now any one who is not a Ned is afraid to say they like Indie for fear of being associated with Neds.

Note1: This was a History lesson not a rant against Neds. I make no judgements about anyones 'Youth sub-culture'.

Note2: No Neds were harmed dureing the writeing of this post.

I'm going into Glasgow today... I wonder if any neds will shout goth, I might just wear a flowery dress and high heels, with a pair of baggy jeans under it (just popping out the bottom) to confuse them....

I got one of the Breeders CD's today, if you haven't heard them, imagine all the Pixies songs, but with kim Deal singing main vocals. Its magical.
