| Re: Hardcore Night announced i've only heard Screaming Down The Walls and Stand and Defy, which admittedly do sound like what some might consider "cool" hardcore, but i very much doubt that that's anything to do with an attempt to get in with scenesters or whatever. Screaming... was done in 2002, which is well before any casual observer was raising their fist to the sounds of Strike Anywhere. fact of the matter is that Tear-jerk are a hardcore band, and if ye don't like it then hard cheese.

utter baws. | You know, even if this band had not always been 'hardcore' then what's the problem?
I'm assuming you don't have one because I'd hate to think you were against local bands evolving and trying out different styles of music whether it has become popular or not in a specific period of time. |

| Re: Hardcore Night announced Terrible choice of venue.
Rockers isn't bad.
But with the positioning of tables and such, I reckon you'll do well to have a pit. |

| Re: Hardcore Night announced Lol Tear-jerk have never been a pop punk band! I think their old stuff sounds like the kinda melodic hardcore that hopeless records used to put out but i think they have totally progressed and have their own sound now which is plain evil and brilliant!

Just an observation... I'd say forming a metalcore band in the past year or so coincides more with it being cool that any change tearjerk made two and a bit years ago.

| Re: Hardcore Night announced There's been a fair few new bands going for the metalcore sound when FAFF and thrice etc became popular. When the backlash started it seems a lot of people moved to metalcore/hardcore for a bit of credibility. You may not agree but it's something I have observed.

| Re: Hardcore Night announced I'm not thinking of any in particular but if you read band members wanted sections of websites and the like you'll notice a lot of people looking to form heavier bands often citng metalcore and hardcore as tastes. I'm not talking about anything drastic but you see the terms used a shitload more now than a few years ago. Which to me reflects growing popularity.

| Re: Hardcore Night announced if you think we are a pop punk band, thats fine. if u think we are a hardcore band, thats fine. we write music for us, and no one else. i dont care what classification it fits into, or if people think we are just writing it to be "cool". we know we are not, and thats all that matters. at least the music is coming from our hearts and not our wallets. thats the way it is and thats the way it will remain. come listen and decide for yourself. i for one am looking forward to this gig, i thot thats what this thread was about? |

utter baws. | Hahahahahahaha- so they went hardcore 3 months ago?! Man, you are a Grade A twat- not only have Tearjerk played like that for a long time, they are also the band that i know that are LEAST affected by styles and fads. Man, i'm sick of people saying to be genuine you have to sleep in your own shit, drink White Lightning and sing songs like 'All I want for xmas is a West Ham United away top'. Have a shower, crusty |
