| Re: PsychoBilly in the UK Depends which city you're in, really.
Psychobilly has a healthy underground following in most larger cities (especially Glasgow, Manchester, and London)... but it's not something you'll find without a local guide.
It certainly ain't fashionable over here, that's for sure.
If it's UK bands you're after, I'd say Manchester would be the best place to look.

| Re: PsychoBilly in the UK well its not like its a big thing here either, in houston most kids are to much into trying to be punk and the psycho scene is really full of older people. theres a pretty good amount of death girls and dead boys, but i was just wondering.
actually its not even got that big of a following in the whole country, but there are some in every city.

| Re: PsychoBilly in the UK I wouldnt say there's a big pyschobilly scene in Glasgow, but there are quite a fair few folk into it. Come to think of it, I don't actually know any Glasgow bands that play psychobilly. I'd say your best bet is to check out the punktastic forums for people around the UK into psychobilly. If you havent done so yet, check out the Nekromantix review hosted on this very site. |

| Re: PsychoBilly in the UK Glasgow used to be a big Psychobilly city in the late eighties and early nineties. I really don't know much about the scene here beyond that... A lot of the real 'billy fans from back then still live here and still keep it going, just on a smaller scale and not as often (older, wiser, don't go out as much, y'see?).
Over the years I've seen some good rockin' in the old 'Note club, in Sleazy's, in Tut's, and in Blackfriars. The Funhouse boys play a bit each week, and even Barry has been known to let the occasional psychobilly track loose in the Catty. Best of all was the Flaming Dice Club at Nice 'n' Sleazy's though - that was top-notch. They had a papier-mache tiki head, which spewed out fake lava from the top of it's head, and the winning number for each nights' lottery from it's mouth!

| Re: PsychoBilly in the UK Didn't 'The Meteors' play the cathouse a while back too - my uncle was right into the psychobilly scene back when it was big here so i've got a few of his old records - top notch!

Club noir is good but its more swing and lunge/office party based, their needs to be more rock n roll involved |
