Just so everyone knows we were requested to remove reference's to the club this was originally about. Since it would cast the club in a bad light to the casual browser who didn't read any further than the first post, however since the actual discussion developed into a good topic we felt it best to edit out the club mentioned and return it for further discussion. *Moderator Announcement*
On a personal side...
I'm still surprised at the attitude of people to german vocals, as someone said earlier. Get over it, the war was 60 years ago and you probably weren't even born at the time just the same as most germans alive today had no say in the actions of some people in the past or should we be mad at those people from rome as well? should the americans hate us, in fact scratch that should most of the world hate us? Get a grip.

| Re: Racism in clubs? " Techno! Body! Music!" - combichrist (andy l., again).
i find it interesting that there are so many similarities between futurepop/ebm and house/techno music, but that a lot of people haven't bothered to explore 'the other side'. |

To think that was bad enough, a song called White & Alive was played, l found out that this is by a band called XPQ-21, now not many people know this but the "XPQ-21" was a projec code name given by Hitler to the architects who were designing the concentration camps, as a Jewish person I find this disgusting, and I noticed they have a song called Beautiful too, which is all about creating a perfect Aryan race.
I won't be back until you play non-fascist music.
It has taken me a lot of courage to make this post.

I think people get confussed and try to classify or compare EBM to Techno. Really if you listen to both of those genres you can tell the clear differences. However, the sharp useage of synths to create catchy tunes through the music is about the only similarity I can note. Majority of the time EBM is slower whilst Techno has a faster upbeat artificial sound to the drum beat...

| Re: Racism in clubs? I really hope that this thread has been a pisstake. Its hard to take seriously, especially from an individual who lists Marilyn Manson as one of there favorite acts in their profile (nothing against Manson, I've been a fan for years, but you can hardly class his lyrics as politically correct ).
My concern is that this may be yet another attempt to sabotage/smear one of the industrial clubs in Glasgow. Its happened a number of times in recent months, through AltNation (though its been well policed - cheers Forbes!) and also removal of club advertising around Glasgow.
It doesnt take much for venue managers to become wary of people who hire their establishments, and shit often sticks, no matter how unjustified. I'd ask people to take this kind of shit-stirring seriously, after all, its your clubnights and social life that may be affected down the line. |

Not to worry...the alternative club scene in Glasgow is doing just fine right now without peeps spreading nonsesne & if someone is taking down posters/fliers then they shall be caught soon

| Re: Racism in clubs? Hmmm, i had been wondering why the thread starter only made the one post, given that they are soooo "upset". jeezus, just let the people party!
and on the techno/EBM debate that rages on, i have long maintained that their similarities should be seen as a blessing for someone like my good self who likes the goth thing and the dance thing, and given that if i ever get off my lazy arse and organise something, this shall make for a very good music policy at a club night i've been gibbering about organising for too long. |
