| Racism in clubs? I reguarly go to the rock clubs.
I am Jewish and I was offended that so much Rammstein was played, I found it offensive to hear this constant aggresive German vocal, everyone knows they are a neo-nazi band who named themselves after a town in which there was an air disaster.
To think that was bad enough, a song called White & Alive was played, l found out that this is by a band called XPQ-21, now not many people know this but the "XPQ-21" was a projec code name given by Hitler to the architects who were designing the concentration camps, as a Jewish person I find this disgusting, and I noticed they have a song called Beautiful too, which is all about creating a perfect Aryan race.
I won't be back until you play non-fascist music.
It has taken me a lot of courage to make this post.

| Re: Racism clubs? urm british invented concentration camps.
listen industrial clubs is a place for digital/industrial music, their industrial/digital bands, if you dont like it you dont need to go. no1 asks about the politics, they write some decent songs, im not totally unsympathetic to what your saying but, if you ENJOY going to clubs, because you like the atmosphere then go, you cant say "im not going again because their racist" because their not, the band might be but its not the clubss fault..
i know ive prob worded this wrong, but imtired no well and in a bad mood.

| Re: Racism at clubs? I think the rammstein thing is a bit tenuous, 'aggressive german vocals' covers a good number of industrial/ebm bands on the scene, and it is a fact, albeit a sad one that there is a lot of fascist imagery in that scene these days. I cant say i've ever been aware of rammstein having any nazi leanings, though being that i think they're shite i tend not to give them much attention.

| Re: Racism at clubs? again though the BNP albeit a bunch of cocks, are a legitmate party, their bound to have hooked some impressionable young'uns, who themselves are eegits, to do this at a nightclub.
i knew it was happening, but imo the best way to deal with it is to give it no credence.

| Re: Racism at clubs? I find this post pretty alarming for quite a number of reasons. I know of all the bands you mentioned including XPQ21....I've even met the singer before and can categorically say that there is nothing racist in any of the songs...... 'white & alive' & 'beautiful' are simple uplifting songs and I think you'll find people who go to bedlam and likes the band has no interest in racism.
As for Rammstein....it's a very Germanic style of music but lyrically it can all be a bit silly but as widespread & huge as Rammsteins music is I've never heard a great deal of controversy surrounding any political beliefs they have.
I've actually been going to industrial clubs since it began, even going to events the organisers put on before it's inception and in-turn know a large number of people who attend throughout the years and not once have I ever come across any instances of racism innvolving atendees or been aware of any politics in the music played suggesting this.

| Re: Racism at clubs? altho this is 100% definetly a piss take i'd just like to mention rammstein have actually addressed the rumours about them being nazi's and categorically deny it. much like dissection who had this to say "we are not nazis we just want to deliver out anti-cosmic metal of death"

| Re: Racism at clubs? The lyrics to Beautiful are: Quote:
Beautiful
It's too late, in L.A. it's too late
Look at you, look at you
Is that the face you wanted?
You don't see, you don't rock
And feed the machine
Wasted precious years
You feel good
You feel free
Live your lifestyle
You have no troubles
You have no regrets
Lost in victories of your illusions of your broken dreams
Don't leave your path
But you don't have to change your mind
'Cause you're
Beautiful
You're beautiful
No matter what you say and what you do
Beautiful
Created for a plastic world
And I see your plastic
You foxy lady
Where are you, where are you
Your mind is playing tricks
Buy your magazines
And learn your lifestyle
Lost in victories of your dreams
Wake up...
| I don't really like EBM and to an outsider of the genre there seems to be a fair amount of Germanic imagery and the like. Although, I'd find it difficult to understand if the bands were being outright racist, simply because I don't speak the languages they sing in.
It'd be cool and pretty interesting if you point out specific lyrics that contain racist ideology/imagery.

| Re: Racism at clubs? A large number of bands in this scene use nazi imagery to give themselves a kind of perverted image i.e Panzer A.G. , wheter or not they are actually facists or not is very hard to judge unless you know a bit more about them or can actually understand the language.
perhaps generalising here, but surely any German singing in an industrial or metal band is going to sound aggressive, its just the way the language sounds, hence why the Germans do industrial and the Italians do opera.
At the end of the day i don't think bedlam would remove a band from the playlist unless there was a real objection to them based on some kind of evidence of them being Nazi bastards. But if you feel uncomfortable there then try a different club, whilst i realise EBM is not every goths cup of tea, it does seem to be the way clubs are going these days, it happens a lot as music genres evolve and new styles become popular.
eh, i was going to say something else but i forgot... expect a hasty post edit in a minute.

I have long maintained that the German language is loosely based on Klingon.
