It's amazing, you can listen for hours and not hear one bad track... 'cause they know the score and don't feature any kiddy pop-punk, emo/screamo or bad metal masquerading as hardcore type shit in their playlists. | You bitter old man

Reasonable question, I dont know why people cant give reasonable straight forward answers to it!
sorry I dont have them, but hopefully someone who likes Oi and does not have their head up their own ass will come across this thread and give you some tips.
P.s. I remember the days punk rock was a form of unity extended to everyone and not just sitting around being dicks on the internet! |

| Re: Oi The tracks were the videos on Yaoho! Launch. The Exploited track I heard was Beat The Bastard and I think the Agnostic Front tracks were Go Gonna Go (words like that) and Lets Start A Riot.
Plus liking Burzum doesn't mean you are a Nazi. You can think one man is a genius but not agree with his beliefs.

| Re: Oi Cool, the AF tracks would be "Gotta go" and "Riot, Riot, Upstart" from the albums Something's gotta give and Riot, Riot, Upstart. You can hear their earlier stuff here.
I guess those tracks do have a bit of an Oi/streetpunk kinda sound, so you should check out bands like Slumlords, The Disasters, The Briggs, The Bluebloods, The Bruisers or for the original Oi sound stuff like Cock Sparrer or The Business.
There's a couple of compilation CD's, Worldwide Tribute to the Real OI, volume 1 + 2 with modern bands doing covers of the original Oi classics, so maybe look for those too. |

Luckily you caught me before I became too cool for this kinda thing. www.allmusic.com - orgonise your search by style and go "oi".
You'll get a list of the most popular oi bands to date, it's good if you're wanting to find out what's what. I'm not a big fan myself. edit: or you could just click here

I went off Agnostic Front when the first thing I heard by them started off with them pledging allegience to the flag. Thought it was joke at first, but it wasn't. Bleugh |

"Liberty & Justice"
Anger as sharp as the broken glass
Burning cars and tear gas
Every race riot--is the last one
A dying culture's final gasp
Every decade--yet no one learns
And it's always their own homes they burn
Crushed by a quorum-driven-state machine
A nation's will, cannot be turned
Memories lost in a nation's sleep
In the dreams of contented sheep
Can we ever hope to find solutions
When our country has sold it's Constitution
All too wrong to be right
The answer's there, we just lack the sight
Race wars fed by prejudice and fright
The love of a nation for its people
burned through the night
Monochrome blood sport--we never tire
So many things feed the fires
To repeat History--a world conspires
So many years have fed the desires |
