Later Edge | Theres no "Big" bands in hardcore from scotland.
Well there you go, you;ve formed your own opinion, and your minds closed as you've said.
If you want to find out things you'll need to go searching for it, Im sticking of trying to tell stories to people who don't want to learn.
All Im going to say is find out about what hardcore actually is before forming opinions and running the rule on everything.
You are correct though - people do get confsued with metalcore and hardcore easily. Theres alot of crossover in the genres these days, and has been from day one, when people got sick of sounding like everyother band and started mixing their own influences together.
Personally speaking my band is influenced from everything from 80's/90's hardcore punk, to mind 90's first wave of metalcore/ hardcore, right through to more modern metallic sounding hardcore like Shattered Realm, Buried Alive, No Turning Back etc and some euro metal for good measure.

I'm opened to change that opinion if I find that there is something to say otherwise. But so far from what I've heard of bands involved in the GHC scene they mainly consist of 'Metalcore' bands that have minor bits from 'Scremo' and 'Hardcore Punk'.
Not entirely my area of expertise, but I do recognise that there is some difference in 'Hardcore' and 'Metalcore' but I would have to say it's pretty much the same thing with some local bands.

| Re: Recommend me some (modern) hardcore to download If you dont understand how hardcore evolved through out the years (in sound), then you cant understand why bands/genres get labelled they way they do.
If your generally interested in finding out I'm sure you can take 10 mins out of your busy schedule to google for it.
End of discussion.

If you don't want to accept that some bands in local scene saying that they 'Hardcore' when they, damn right sound more like 'Metalcore' then thats fine, we can agree to disagree.
Then we can call it end of discussion?!

Later Edge | You orginally asked if this was the case with "MOST" hardcore, as its what you find with "local bands", but whatever dude.
I know its most probably my band your making a point about here, which is why its close to home.
We are a hardcore band at heart and not (SOLEY) on sound.
We are hardcore kids, we are influenced and listen to bands that started all this shit in the first place, while taking on more modern sounding bands (who were a direct evolution from the first wave of bands, which is why im telling you to get educated on the evolution of hardcore, so you can get a bigger picture).
It all depends what YOUR definition of "hardcore" and "metalcore" is.
But lets be honest here, Ive absolutely no want to hear what your definition of either is, because A) Im feel that im fairly clued up on what Im talking about and B) you know as well as I do the only hardcore your interested in is Apop and guff like that
At the end of the day, theres facts and theres opinions.
I guess you can only form "proper" opinions once you know the facts.
My last post on the subject dude.
