Re: By My Hands - Another Lesson Learned (out Now!)

to be honest, £5.50 is taking the piss a bit.

I have never seen a local band sell cds for more than £2, apart from dirtbox who tried to charge a fiver at one of their gigs and got a real rippin' for it

Re: By My Hands - Another Lesson Learned (out Now!)

I think a five spot is fair price for a professionally put together piece of work like this, and if you count the 50p as going to towards postage then it's definitely a decent deal.

I meant to pick one up on Saturday, but I'll get one when I next see them.

Re: By My Hands - Another Lesson Learned (out Now!)

£2 for a demo perhaps, which this ain't. £5.50 with P&P covered isn't bad at all- besides, with a label etc its a little more than just a "local band" release. Not that it's Franz Ferdinand Pt. 2, but you know what I mean. There are more overheads than when you're burning 50 copies on your PC at home.

Re: By My Hands - Another Lesson Learned (out Now!)

What the fuck are you rambling gaylords on about?

This is a proper cd you'd pick up in a shop - not a cdr, not a demo.
Its out on a record label, its glass mastered, its got an 8 page booklet and professional artwork. No different from a cd you'd pick up in virgin megastores or anything.

Jeesus christ, 7 track MCD that lasts just udner half an hour, what the christ is the problem?
Reign in Blood is one minute longer than this cd and it sells for £15 and ive never seen one person grumble that.
(not comparing my band to slayer, but cd wise (not music) whats the difference?

Probably worth checking up about the cd before slatting it, eh guys?

Fucking retards.

Re: By My Hands - Another Lesson Learned (out Now!)

I picked this up on Saturday and it's top shit.

I'd maybe agree that £5 is pushing it a bit for just the CD, aye, but I got a free chip with some cheese on it as well so all in all I reckon I got myself a bargain.
Nah, even without a chip £5 is top class for a CD of such high quality both in terms of content and in presentation. Get on it, cocksmokes.

Re: By My Hands - Another Lesson Learned (out Now!)

Cost of getting the whole thing out and about would be something like this on a pressing of 500:
CD Pressing - £520 - £540
Full colour 8 page booklet - £80 - £100

The band and label aren't going to sell all those copies at full price as well, they're going to sell a bunch wholesale to distros and do trades. Considering over £600 has been spent, and that's not counting recording, then there can be nae complaints about it being £5. I think that's a very generous price for what you're getting.
