miss.
i just don't like it when people make comments like that completely offhand. maybe i'm just taking it too personally, but it was hearing things like 'you're too fat to wear that' when i tried to dress up a bit that turned me into an obsessive anorexic & landed me in hospital. i would've expected a little more understanding from people who go to clubs like bedlam.
Arguably, societal pressure alone doesn't cause the kind of deep seated mental disturbance that leads to eating disorders.
For that, generally, you have to think (other)mental disorders are playing a part or, say, childhood abuse or neglect or somesuch.
Edit: Vaguely on topic; I sha'n't be at Bedlam this month. Tragic, I know.
that sort of comment is expected at goth night, come on, we're the bitchiest subculture about IME.but it was hearing things like 'you're too fat to wear that' when i tried to dress up a bit that turned me into an obsessive anorexic & landed me in hospital
Big girls can look good, providing they dont ooze, if you know what I mean.
I'm with TheCastrator with this, I really don't think it was just that comment that sent you over the edge.
heh, yeah point taken, fair enoughOriginally Posted by Lovewookie

yeah, i know, i know, but i still don't like people making offhand stupid comments like that - some people will take them more seriously than others.
sorry - didn't mean to turn this into an argument.
*pours everyone a nice glass of vodka*
no arguments here.

also true, pretty much anyone can look good, if they know what they look good in. Style, some have. Some have not.Originally Posted by Lovewookie
