Xmas shopping? Stuff that

Yes its thats time of year again..when I get to wrestle the tree out of its yearly hibernation and whack it back into shape again. I always put my tree up 2 weekends before Xmas, any sooner than that and I start to feel quite sick. The pressies do not get delivered until the weekend before xmas as my children are like sniffer dogs and will no doubt find them with relative ease, or maybe Im just not very good at hiding things. I gave up doing my Xmas shopping on foot and in person when the wonders of the internet became commonplace and I came home from one particular xmas shopping trip with a black eye and sore foot where the wheels of a rather large family vehicle complete with screaming kids ran over my toes. I havent ventured outside for seasonal shopping ever since and always get it delivered by the nice boys in their big vans. I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone with an ounce of brain would traipse around endless shops looking for gifts, fighting through crowds and queuing for hours on end to pay for stuff when its all there at your fingertips and the press of a button while you sip your Baileys and congratulate yourself on a job very well done thanks muchly.

I was told that the shopping part is what xmas is all about - well I very much doubt that Jesus was born for the sole purpose of a nightmare shopping trip, bruised ankles and a hammered credit card - and I very much doubt the 3 Kings had to queue at Argos quite so long for their frankensence gold and whatever and then fight their way back to their camel park hoping the handles on their cheap carrier bags dont break and leave their shopping strewn over level 2, under all the other camels.

Nope - stress free shopping only for me this year as I have done for the last 2 years - I havent aged a day since I started doing it this way and I intend to keep it that way. I even get my kids to post my xmas cards for me :icon_lol:
