Damn drunks and idiots

When I was a child, 3 years running I landed in casualty for various illness\'/injuries and totally spoiled my parents plans for a night out on Boxing Day. They have never let me forget it. This year it appears to be my turn to do the hospital run with my own daughter - although i wasnt planning a night out, rather a quiet night in with Kev once they were in bed. She had a bottom problem and was in quite a bit of pain by 9pm last night so I had to take her to the out of hours service to get it seen to - turns out she was badly constipated and has a wee tear on her bottom, nothing serious but sore for her none the less.
In the hour and a half we were in the waiting room there were so many drunks coming and going - one of them a girl of about 15 screaming abuse at the staff and acting like a total idiot. They eventually called the police on her she was being so abusive. While I was in with the doctor who was examining Caitlyn some drunk man of about 50 odds decided it would be a good idea to wreck the casualty department, throwing a tray of needles and pans half way across the room as I was leaving. Bless the wee doctor I saw, he ushered me and Caitlyn back into the room so we didnt have to get caught in the middle of it and wouldnt let us leave till the police had got the guy in a headlock and dragged him back into his little cubicle. Then as I am making my way out, a car screeches up to the hospital with a guy slumped in the front passenger seat who looked like he was dead and a hysterical woman jumping out of the car crying and screaming - the poilce then had to deal with this, the guy was just so drunk he couldnt stand. It really is terrible the things our nurses and doctors have to deal with at this time of the year simply from people who cant control their alcohol intake.
Anyway the wee one is happier now with her medicine and her cream so hopefully no more hospital trips
