Green Day were excellent last night. 2 hour set with a 4 song encore, some cool pyrotechnics, plus they got 3 guys out of the audience to play bass drums and guitar for one song and they let the little guy who got up and played guitar keep the guitar - he was only about 14 bless him. We were right down near the front in standing and I got a little bruised and battered cause several small groups decided to start a pit down the front. I did get a few good kicks in at some of them that came flying towards me though
Ended up getting pushed back so by the end of the gig we were about 20\' back from where we started. Bloody good gig though and would defo go see them again
Set list from what I remember and not in any particular order (my memory aint so good y\'know)
American Idiot
Basket Case
Jesus of Surburbia
St Jimmy
Are We The Waiting
Longview
King for a Day
Hitching a Ride
Boulevard of Broken dreams
She
When I come around
Brainstew/Jaded
Time of your life
Minority
Holiday
Wake me up when Septemeber Ends
Shout
and they finished off with a version of Queens \"We Are The Champions\"
*goes off to see if there are any Glasgow tickets left.
Went to Jilly's Rockword after the gig and had a fantastic time sitting in the back room listening to total old school music - was an education for Kev and he didnt know anything apart from Guns N Roses
Jillys is a great club, it has 4 different rooms, the main room is like the Cathouse on a Friday night only twice the size, one is for oldies like myself to listen to Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister and the like, there is a room for emo youngsters and one that covers gothicy stuff. The bar staff are great, really friendly bunch. Crawled back to the hotel at 3am completely hammered and stuffed after the nicest chicken burger I have ever tasted from Alans Fried Chicken bar just off Oxford Street. I would go all the way back for one now if I could cause Im berluddy starving
