Bored, or boring?

I didn\'t intend to go on about Janette so much in that last entry, it was meant to be more like general stuff about me. Oops. Oh well.
Anyway, on with the bland...
What a bollocks weekend. Left work on Friday night not quite knowing what to do with myself because I didn\'t have any plans, and had the flat to myself... Meech was away to see his missus in Newcastle. So I did... nothing, really. All weekend. Got a quick unexpected call from Janette when I got home, didn\'t think I was getting to speak to her at all till this Tuesday (as I say, she\'s gone camping), she\'d called just to remind me she loves me, and I got a yet-unknown big addition to the phone bill from it being a reverse charge call thing for the privilege. Hey... I\'m not complaining!!!! I was all happy and cheery to hear from her (as might have been noted on this journal), I was on a bit of a high, got all ready to have a great weekend...
... then it all just kinda went shite. All in my head though, I just got really miserable, and the mood got worse as the weekend went on. Didn\'t help that I didn\'t speak to another living soul until this morning, either.
Wasn\'t really in the mood for ditching all my vices, so I drank too much coffee and ate too much curry. Safeway do a cool 2-for-6-quid thing on freshly made meals, so on Friday I filled up on a smashing chicken tikka, and had no choice but to eat the korma on Saturday (while it was still relatively fresh). Tasty, but I don\'t think my guts were too happy about it. I also got the strangest urge to get drunk while watching CSI on Saturday night, but a couple of whiskeys later I started to decide against the idea of getting smashed while depressed and sitting on my own. Been there, done that.
I wasn\'t in the slightest bit interested in playing computer games all weekend, I wouldn\'t have been able to on my PC anyway. The heat was unbelievable in the flat, and while the stock cooling solution I have for the machine is perfectly good under normal circumstances, I didn\'t count on my room getting that hot, so the thing decided to not-so-politely tell me where to go any time I tried to do anything strenuous. I\'ll be fucked if I\'m spending any money on better cooling for it at the moment though, I\'m not wasting any more money for no reason, so it can stay off for now.
Most of the rest of the weekend was spend sleeping, doing housework (dishes/laundry/all that crap) and watching TV & movies. Watched all of series 2 of Red Dwarf. Watched \'Memento\', great movie. Watched my usual cop shows (CSI and all that). Tried to watch \'Interview With A Vampire\' again, as usual got totally bored by it about halfway through. Spent several hours watching all the home video footage Janette made of Canadia when she was back home at Christmas (the strange things you do when you don\'t get to talk to your other half for a week...), lots of cool/funny stuff, but in the end it just made me sad.
I really need to sort my free time out, before I go crazy. I need to find more ways to spend time with my friends and family without spending any money... this \'self-imposed exile\' thing is starting to drive me out of my mind. Janette said to me that her cousin Jill (who emigrated to Canada a few months ago) is getting depressed because she has no friends over there, and here\'s me with thousands of friends that I make no effort to hang out with. Once again... no-one but myself to blame. Best sort that out before I go stir crazy.
Work sucks today. Lapper isn\'t here. Cuff\'s covering his stuff, and doing a sterling job of it. I\'ve got important stuff to do. Most of it\'s done, but I could be trying harder...
Tonight, maybe I\'ll watch Family Guy. Meech bought series 3. Wohoo.
Tons more things I want to write down, but I\'ve got work to do.
Anyway, on with the bland...
