Meeting random people...

Posted 22nd August 2007 at 8:21pm by Veil Of Tears
Ok, for the next while, this blog will be filled with random stuff that has filtered out from the Midwest trip.

Today, Im rambling about meeting people...

Isnt it cool, when you meet a bunch of people you dont know, and within ten minutes your all getting along famously? Thats how the Midwest trip started for me. It was officially day -1. Thats the day before day zero, when we hit the surprise bonus park, the day before day 1, where we started the trip proper.

So, it turned out a few of the international lot were all flying in a day early. It also just so happened that a dozen of us had booked the same hotel. So, just before flying out, we got on the forum and agreed to meet up for dinner. A vote was taken, and the food related destination chosen by overwhealming majority was...

HOOTERS!

Awesome. So, there were three Americans, 4 Canadians, 3 guys from the Netherlands, one girl from down south, and me. Despite never actually meeting before, it all went very well. It was a proper bonding experience, and the same group stuck together for most of the trip. We even got ourselves a name. "The Hooter Crew". Yes, its sad and pathetic, but also alot of fun.

Maybe it all went so well because we were in the same boat. Maybe I was just fortunate to land with a group I got on rather well with (beleive me, there were others on the trip I wouldnt have gotten on with at all). Maybe its cos we were really all there for the same reason, to hit up the rides and have as much fun as we could.

One thing thats for sure, is that it was an awesome start to an awesome trip.
