| Re: DJ Toast - Glasgow Queen Margaret Union [22 Aug 08] I understand that people are sometimes skint and need to get passes/get in early to clubs to avoid paying (I've ferried enough folks through the door on a Friday night as guests), but posting IN CAPITALS suggests more a refusal rather than an inability to pay the door charge.
It's just your attitude that annoyed me, rather than anything else. |

It's just your attitude that annoyed me, rather than anything else. | Its was not a refusal and i explained my side though. Did not want it to come across that way.
Due to lack of funds, not going to go

what else would you expect for free? would you pay to get into a movie? would you pay for bowling? what's different about a club? | We deal with a lot of this, and as we rely on the door money to pay our wages, it can be a problem and sometimes we (Forbes & myself) can go short. We do offer free passes though so we have to expect to speculate to accumulate, so to speak and for a short period of time we're willing to make up the shortfall out of our own pockets, but only in the short term. I agree Alec, we work very hard up there and so many people expect it for free. I even had one girl on a Saturday a few weeks ago tell me she couldn't afford to pay in to Bedlam as she had no money, so could I play her loads of bedlam tunes seeing as she was missing out? Eh, NO. |

Considering other nights when I get a steady income.

I pay in when I can, when I get my student loan back I can pay in all the time.
Its too cheap to argue really.

| Re: DJ Toast - Glasgow Queen Margaret Union [22 Aug 08] I don't get people being outraged at the prospect of having to pay into a club. If you don't want to pay/are skint, don't fucking go out, stay in instead.
People have a living to make. |

| Re: DJ Toast - Glasgow Queen Margaret Union [22 Aug 08] I begrudge paying into shite nightclubs, and its been a long time since I've been to a good one.
I would, for instance, begrudge paying into cheesy pop. |
