CherryKicks Album Tracks ....

Hey hey,

With pre-production for the forth-coming CherryKicks album about to begin, we were wondering if there were any of the live tracks that you guys think we should include in the tracklisting ...

- Living American
- Radio Tokyo
- Buckfast
- Hey Hey Hey
- Mind Over Matter
- Waste It
- High Times
- If thats what you think, You got another think coming
- Had enough of not having enough
- Shiny Little Gun

We've also got a few brand new ones that are gonna be on there - just wondered what anyones thoughts were. A cover was also considered (current thoughts are: Dropout - RFTC, Easy - G'n'R, Sweet Little Sister - Skid Row) so any ideas there would be appreciated!!

Thanks for yer help!!

Re: CherryKicks Album Tracks ....

'You've Got Another Thing Coming' and 'Had Enough' are the two best songs in the world evaaaaaaah, so aye, they've gotta be on there!

Not sure about older tracks... Toe is going to come in and start shouting for 'Mind Over Matter', isn't he? I always thought 'Buckfast' deserved better than being thrown away on that compilation. It could sound great with a production value equal to the 'Radio Tokyo' EP... Hell, it could probably be a single, it's catchy as fuck...

I've always loved 'Waste It', but everyone says it's too long, don't they? I think there's some really cool riffs on it. Could be cool with better production, although I'm kinda partial to the 'Ramones first album' sound of the current version.

Not sure about whether or not I think there should be EP tracks repeated on the album... Maybe sticking 'Shiny Little Gun' on there would be cool? But then I always thought the album HAD to end with 'Living American'... And I suppose it's only good sense to have the single on the album... Hmm.

For the cover, you should do some old 50's rock and roll tune in a Turbonegro/Backyard Babies stylee... Something like 'Boom Boom, Out Go The Lights' by Little Walter, or an Elvis song or something...

Yeah - that would be cool. Was also toying with the idea of a Cure song in a Turbonegro/Backyard Babies stylee ... just for a larf! Or a straight up Social Distortion cover - maybe 'when the angels sing' or 'i was wrong'

Re: CherryKicks Album Tracks ....

Haha... 'Boys Don't Cry' rewritten as an anti-emo rant.

I picked up a Social Distortion shirt for £2.99 in HMV the other week. Fuck knows what that was all about. I can just about handle trendy stores selling MC5 and Ramones shirts, but Social Distortion?!

One of the things we're gonna do in my new band is some country songs rendered in a punk rock stylee, like Social Distortion and Jason and the Scorchers did... You can play the chords of something like 'Lovesick Blues' by Hank Williams in a chug-chug-chug punk rock stylee and it sounds really cool, it doesn't have to be a comedy cover or any shit like that...

Re: CherryKicks Album Tracks ....

Very true - you should check out Mike Ness' Cheating at Solitaire - very Man In Black. Also the SD cover of 'Ring of Fire' is feckin' ace!

Which HMV was this and are there any more SD tees???

Re: CherryKicks Album Tracks ....

What about good old bad old...

hmmm... I think I've killed that joke...

'Had Enough' and 'Another Thing Coming' should blatantly be proper tracks, not live tracks, as they RÖKK...

I still think the Cure cover is the way to go, in a dirty Rock and Roll stylee...

Re: CherryKicks Album Tracks ....

'End of the World' is great, especially that bit in the middle where it goes into this ace riff for all of 3 seconds and then goes elsewhere... I always look forward to that wee bit...

Yeah, but is it good enough to convince you to go see Lost Prophets just for the support acts? I feel so dirty for even considering it.
