There was a definite bad smell, but it was only in a small area and it would come and go. That said, when it did manifest, it was seriously bad. Like raw sewage bad. I'm sure it was coming from a ceiling vent.
If you're curious where it is, just pay attention to the left side of the main bar next week. You'll notice a gap in the crowd mysteriously open up from time to time

My only dancefloor related gripe is of the unusual volume of people pushing through the middle all the way through - I actually had to move aside to let people pass far less when I was on the outskirts than when I was in the middle of the dancers. Bizarre. Crazy! WTF? I get there's no distinction between bar area and dancefloor - same problem as Cathouse 1st floor - but the dancefloor felt somehow SMALLER at times despite there being MORE room.

Boo, I'm working and can't go to this next week. But I promise to be a better cloakroom attendant than the guy in this place.

I haven't seen Michaele in ages, so it was nice to see he'd not changed much over the years - still a cheeky monkey. From a first time patron point of view I thought the Classic Grand was a great venue and Saturday night in there was how a rock club should look, feel and sound. I think I only got to dance once, but that was my own stupid choice of footwear as well as the dancefloor being too bloody busy. Still better being too busy a dancefloor than too quiet on a launch night. The staff seemed really friendly, if not a bit overwhelmed by requests for drinks they clearly don't sell often, but as launch nights go it was bloody good (except I broke a banner thingy).

Woof. I was fairly fucked, however Cryotec on Thursday, SiN on Friday and then this was a bit of a challenge.

I'd only been to CG once before and thought it was a sweet venue, the AN banners and general red&blackness was a fantastic looking setup. Definitely a regular Saturday night methinks.

I gave away my free pass in Solid to a lass that I used to work with who's now unemployed. I have sinned.

i'm not picking sides, cathouse will still be attended on fridays, at least, but that's just poor conduct

barry, next week can you verbally abuse people who "sit" at the bar (ie order then consume their drink while taking up barspace)? also people who stand on the dancefloor clogging it up. gw'an - you know you wanna!

left early for my own reasons (couoldn't drink through it on a budget of £10) but music was good. next week the wallet and liver will be packed

I had an Orange contract a couple of years ago... then I moved to O2.

Every year, Orange send me fliers entitled "So was it greener?" with a picture of some grass on the front.

From what I do remember tho, the venue was great apart from the aforementioned dancefloor/bar mashup, only bad smells I noticed were punters but that's gonna happen in a packed club.
