Thankfully she explained why she was mildly offended later, which admittedly only confused me more at the time. The entire experience served as cover for the fact that it had been so long since I'd seen Mandy that I was congratulating her on being married when apparently they've just broken up.
The wheels within wheels of my evening were apparently deeply unenjoyable to my friend Gary. | It was good to see you again my dear. We really don't meet up as often as we should.
That is, unfortunately, true of most of my friends these days.
All in all a good night though.
Apologies to Forbes for my melodramatic depressive mumblings as I left though! |

| Don't slag off wee Dec or at least that is what she thought you were doing in front of her then and she'll be as docile as a kitten.
My night was eventful. Just as well Dec was wearing his shorts last night, they came in handy for this athletic sprint between floors when he managed to DJ both floors at the same time for about 15 minutes. |

| Re: Absolution - 6th September When it was explained that she thought I was dissing Dec I was flabbergasted. It was only with the greatest of restraint I managed not to say "But-but-but...Dec's ma boy."
I felt like I was trying to run through a house of cards the amount of noses I put out of joint while trying to have a quiet civilised drink last night.
Bad craziness. |

Bad craziness. | haha, it can get like that sometimes. So, you gave the club another shot seeing as Friday night wasn't what you expected, better or indifferent?

| Re: Absolution - 6th September Busier, I kept offending people by accident (Accidentally offending your wife actually took the heat off me for accidentally offending Mandy though, so it all balances out.) which was obviously distracting but the club was solid enough. 4/5 songs are at least listenable and not actively offensive on your floor and Dec immediately improves when he's got all the pop-punk number ones out of his system.
A good country mile better than the Cathouse, but still not exactly my cup of tea. Utterly worth it to see Forbes ear-pieced and bomber-jacketed though, priceless.
If this isn't an inappropriate venue to discuss it, what was with the heavy police presence in the club? Was mildly tempted to eavesdrop when they were talking to Forbes but decided A) It would be rude and B) I didn't care enough.

| Re: Absolution - 6th September Friday nights have only been running for 2 weeks with two floors, so it's just getting the word out that it's now the entire club. It took a few months to build up the Saturdays when we went to two floors, but I think it's quite an established night now and Dec's floor is getting busier every week. Even if it's not your thing, having the choice of a club where you can go and relax and offend everyone you chat to is a good night in it's own right
So you're maybe not going to be a regular, but you'd give the club a shot when you're out the odd Saturday? |

| Re: Absolution - 6th September Aye, wouldn't deny for a second I had a good night. My mate Gary didn't, I think my cantankerous bile and random-chaos-causing wore him down over the course of the evening.
Me and G laughed our asses off at the the punk-pop hour of power, though its possibly because we were coincidentally downstairs for it both nights. "Whats coming next, it could be Reel Big Fish, it could be Alkaline Trio. Damn, its Less Than Jake, sorry, you lose, no prize for you."
I'm not slagging Dec (Or, by some creepy classic-grand-family extension, you) off for this, he's just doing his job, and doing it well, this is fun to me. Like trying to work which tracks in your set that no crowd would ever have cared to listen to (Never mind dance to.) pre-Guitar Hero.
Fun. |

And Mark - you have never offended me, accidentally or otherwise, so I don't think you need to worry about that. I don't offend easily.

| Re: Absolution - 6th September Hah, see the look of pure misery on your face when I congratulated you on getting married. I'm just the best friend.
I initially thought thats why the crazy blonde girl (Thats right, I said girl, didn't even occur to me that Barry would've married an immortal or someone who ages in reverse but I suppose it really should have.) was glaring at me. |

| Re: Absolution - 6th September It was purely coz I hate having to tell folk coz I never know how they're gonna react. Especially folk who know/are mates with Stephen. I fully expect the "how could you do that to him" speel. (Although I would like to point out that it was both of us at fault in this scenario - it wasn't all my fault. Contrary to popular belief!) |

| Re: Absolution - 6th September I'd go with what everyone else was saying and it was a good night. I don't think I've left the place yet with my vocals still in one piece "Blaming Psychosocial for that this time"
Deffo back for the same again next week..
Oh, and to anyone who was there sober, I share your pain, as I'm usually sober every week I'm there due to driving to and from the shire to get there |
