You can't have yer favourite decade which is one you haven't even experienced, in my view. It just seems a preposterous. I mean thats like me saying Brazil is my favourite place in the world, although i've never been.

I just think it makes more sense that a persons favourite decade would be the decade which they experienced their favourite things and etc.

I think that maybe a broader cross section of the folks that go to the club may have been better in a way, but at the end of the day, good/free publicity is not to be sniffed at, eh?

The idea that a rock/metal/alternative club is "goff as fuck" is a bit outdated though, given the way that a lot of music/scenes have kinda evolved, if you like.

The article looks very much to be about a mainstream club with mainstream punters. Pendulum and Panic at the Disco are not goth - Panic at the Disco aren't even alternative; hence the lack of "goths", presumably.

I guess if they're trying to promote the night then they're probably doing a big favour, aye, there are all the usual crowd (to quote, a bunch of goths ) but also showing that its open to other more mainstream styles aswell.
Probably doing the club a favour, considering that as much as the alternative scene in Glasgow is massive in comparison to other parts of the uk (bar London) Theres obviously alot more who aren't, showing the club to be more open and friendly to anyone

Then perhaps it's you that has the blinkers on/problem. Just because someone wears a pretty dress or cool jeans and trainers doesn't mean you don't like the music. Music isn't about what you wear/how you look, you might also consider that the dress sense in the altscene and music acceptance has changed as well as it's become more popular, for example you can hear plenty of tunes in the garage you'd hear in a rock club now.

In fact I don't think I fit into the "Goth"* image that some people seem to expect in the rock scene.

I love the that a diverse range of people are appearing at the club and it's not being pigeon holed as "that mad goth club". Having said that I love seeing people that are really into different looks, old school punks, real Goths , Thrashers and everyone else. It's definitely what makes the place better.

* By Goth I mean the main stream use of the word not the actual Goth look.
