Harvey Kartel supporting Grandmaster Flash, Classic Grand April 12th

As the title says, I have the honour of warming up for Grandmaster Flash at his Classic Grand show, this Easter Sunday. Flash is one of the true fathers of our culture, his pioneering DJ techniques and eclecticism helped birth the beautiful thing we call hip hop. Still rocking crowds around the world to this day, anyone who was at his previous Classic Grand shows knows just how great this is going to be. Expect a mix spanning all genres, straight up turntable showmanship, and some good ol' fashioned hip hop.

Support comes from myself and Bigg Taj. Bigg Taj is a brilliant Glasgow beatboxer, who wows crowds around the world alongside greats such as Biz Markie and Jurassic 5. You can check Taj out here. As for me, I'll be playing some of my own beats live, along with some breaks, hip hop and general turntable trickery. If you've not heard my stuff before, have a listen here.

Tickets cost £15 from all reputable vendors and doors are at 10 (OPEN TIL 4AM, legit). I'll be on first, then Taj and then Flash.

I've kept quiet about it until now because I in slight disbelief that this was going to happen. I'm prob gonna record my set, so if you miss it I'll wing you a copy.

That's fuckin' great news Dec, well in there indeed. I'm gonna try to make this gig, but if I can't them I'd love to hear a copy of your set afterwards. I still give those Williamson.com recordings we made a regular listen - that was indeed a fun day of smoky improv.
