I reckon you guys should start a feedback thread? There's sometimes when I think thinks are really good/bad and I just kinda forget to say.

Couple of weeks back the music seemed to be aalll the popular stuff - like Sugar by System, same old Rob Zombie song etc, and I left because I was bored - but the dancefloor was absolutely packed, so i think it was just requests, so I didn't really think there was much reason for me to complain. If that makes any sense. I'm not a massive metal fan any more so I dunno how valid my opinion is.

i just wrote out a massssive rant there, my comp crashed and died.

i took it as a sign and decided, fuck it, whats another person on my ignore list.

Not sure if there's a need for a thread, but can't do any harm. The easiest and quickest is to just send me or Forbes a pm or email. For most club issues, Forbes is the best bet as he's our PR guru and he tries to answer all customer mails quickly.

All Classic Grand DJs play requests and it always depends on who's in on the night, but we try and persuade customers who want the overplayed big tunes to go for something else by the same band, it works sometimes, sometimes it's just the big overplayed tunes or nothing.

Uch everywhere is gonna play the same stuff everyweek. If I asked barry to play soundgarden and he didn't i would storm the stage naked.

You do that alot. You should cut and paste. I've got a bad connection for my laptop battery and one nudge it's all gone, so cut and paste back up of massive rants and email battles.

Emails and pm's are rather official, if you know what I mean. Most people just have passing comments which aren't really 'complaints' as such, just general reflections on the music played that night. About four Michael Jackson songs in a row is a bit much for me, but I'm sure some people loved it. Also, just like the Cathouse, I've found Classic Grand suffers from always playing the same songs on Friday/Saturday nights. I've tried to request the same music on a weekend night and been told that it's not going to happen, and I respect that. It'd be cool if they had the odd half hour on Fridays/Saturdays dedicated to something different though.

why doesnt anyone just talk to the dj who is playing the music?

i dont see why barry should take time away from djing to come settle comments when it can easily be fixed right there and then like in any other club.

Caitlin I've told you if you to come in early on a Friday or Saturday and you will get to hear the less mainstream commercial alternative tunes. The point is, when you've got over 500 people in a venue all bouncing about to music being played, we can't drop that for a request that'll kill the dancefloor, so come in within the first hour or so and you'll get the more obscure tracks. Or alternatively, come on out on a Thursday/Sunday

Customers do talk the DJs and make requests and complaints, etc while they're at it, all the time. I'll only take time away from the decks to deal with a serious technical issue or if one of the guys needs assistance. Major music complaints and issues that aren't during club hours, like some of the points raised in this thread, I'll generally deal with but the guys can also come in and put their own points accross. More than 2 MJ tracks may seem excessive, but I wasn't there, if the dancefloor was jumping, then maybe it was justified and made a few hundred customers happy and a handful pissed off. We try and listen to all our customers and take on board all their comments, but you can't please everyone all the time, so we just try our best to accomodate as many customers as we can, taking each night one at a time.

I love this. It gives me the mental image that Barry is just CONSTANTLY djing then having to stop quickly to type replies
