yeah but there was a comment made saying that ppl should come speak to you specifically about the music, but im pretty sure the last thing you want when you are trying to play a set is ppl coming up and moaning that another djing isnt playing what they wanted.
personally i think you guys know what you are doing, the dance floor is generally full most of the time and im pretty certain that all you guys know what to play to get the floor full n what not to play to empty it.

x | I used to get it a lot in the Cathouse, when other DJs wouldn't play anything heavy upstairs. I'll be honest, I've not had many people complain to me in the Classic Grand that they're not getting requests played, but that's because we have a good team at the club and we all support each other. If there's a major music policy issue, like I ever hear Beyonce or Britney played in my club, then that's a different matter It's not a hassle, I'd like to hear if there's any complaints so we can deal with them asap and also get the DJ's side of the story and see if we can reach a compromise. When you've dj'ed as long as I have Laura, you get used to hassle when you're up there working, why do you think DJ's drink? |

| Re: Free Friday all July i think that all staff members of clubs should be allowed to drink, not only does it make working there a whole lot more fun but it also makes the staff happier and more likely to tolerate the drunk customers.
this is my own experience tho.
and i know its not so legal here lol

All Classic Grand DJs play requests and it always depends on who's in on the night, but we try and persuade customers who want the overplayed big tunes to go for something else by the same band, it works sometimes, sometimes it's just the big overplayed tunes or nothing. | Just sometimes there isn't always a thread, and I don't want to be whinging in a pm when there's not much to say.
Don't get me wrong, I love the music in the Classic, I like it a lot more at the start/towards the end of the night, but that's why there's two floors and a smoking area
I prefer the music Thursday/Sunday, but that's because I'm bored of a lot of the more mainstream bands like Metallica's playable stuff having been going to pretty much exclusively rock clubs since I was 14, but in a rock club, I'm in the minority and I respect that. I like that you don't only have 4 Chili Peppers songs on rotate, I like that you play bands like Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. I lile most things.

Always happy to have a chat with any customers. Which was the case on Saturday when a couple of people were a bit concerned by the music downstairs. I suggested to them that next time rather than just play straight Jackson stick in a couple of covers like Alien Ant Farm Smooth Criminal or Fallout Boy Beat it being the most obvious. There's nearly all ways a cover for a song when it comes to punk .
It was understandable as our two main DJ's were off so it was two different DJ when in normal circumstances it'd probably be one of the regulars and another, some people probably expected the same old same old and didn't get it other were pleasantly surprised.
Still it's always easier for me to have a quick word with the DJ if the music going seriously off kilter for the floor as Barry is on his floor rocking the place down. Quote:

me and dec pride ourselves on not always playing the big tunes and trying to mix things up
ie the week before last when we played a few songs we hadn't played for at least a year
my main and most important point tho is that i love that forbes has that as his avatar.

I have no idea who was djing at the time mind. The fact that the last time I was out was probably two months ago might explain things though. I demand a three month loop!
