| Glasgow University Stitch 'n' Bitch Glasgow University now has it's very own Stitch 'n' Bitch group!
We meet every Thursday at 8pm in Lacuna on the second floor of the QMU. Membership is open to students of the University of Glasgow, its staff and previous students, as well as students from other institutions and non-students, however these members are not permitted to hold a position on the management committee. Stitch n Bitch! Fancy a Purl Necklace?
Come and meet us in Lacuna (2nd Floor, QMU) on Thursdays at 8pm!
Both Beginners and Masters welcome.
Bring needles and yarn (but we do have spares for learning on) and your creativity. Even if you have never knitted before we will be more than happy to help you to learn how to cast on, knit, bind off and create sexy punky knits.
Join the Stitch n Bitch mailing list: Shoot an email to g.turnbull@qmu.org.uk to keep up to date.
Tell your friends and spread the word... Knit happens! | Just for info, Lacuna is the QMU's fab new late-night cafe, serving filter coffee with a free refill, tea, specialist coffees and hot food including toasties, paninis, crepes and doughnuts. The bar is but a single flight of stairs away for the more adventurous among you, but remember, don't drink and knit... it will only lead to disaster.
All are welcome, we are a friendly bunch with a fair few experienced knitters on hand to help anyone with dropped stitches, new techniques and even casting-on for the first time. If any non-students are interested, drop me or gill turnbull a PM and we will arrange for you to gain entry to the QM.
Hope to see you there! |

| Re: Glasgow University Stitch 'n' Bitch Someone help! i just started with thirty stitches. Now (about five rows later) i have 42. Is there anything that springs to mind that i might be doing wrong? I don't want my scarf to be triangular as well as holey.

Without seeing your work I can't really be sure but this happens a lot with new knitters - are you quite a new knitter? | |

I just started again today having not done it for about ten years. I'm just a bit bemused, because I'm managing to add eight at one time. I'll just keep going and see what happens. There's nothing stopping me starting again if it all goes horribly wrong!

| Re: Glasgow University Stitch 'n' Bitch sorry. things have been sparse lately. we should be back in full swing on the coming thursday.
also, i'm going to resign as president, so if anyone wants to take responsibility for advertising stitch n bitch i'll be much obliged. i don't have the time to be in 4th year, on the exec, and the president of a society. i tried to delegate the email and poster stuff a few times, but nothing happened and as much as i don't want to see stitch n bitch die i can't dedicate time to promoting it alone. |
