| Re: TUF: Meet the Heavyweights The IFL was an unsuccessful wee fight promotion (league) that died in 2007/8, I think. I know fuck all about them but it indicates that he's had at least a few pro-fights and won them (to say the least). Nelson's tried and tested, he should win this without much difficulty.
As for the Arlovski fight, is that the one where the ref stood them up despite Nelson having a clear advantage on the ground, moving towards a submission? The stand up lead to the knock out.

| Re: TUF: Meet the Heavyweights Aye, he was trying for a kimura (I just had to watch it again there to make sure it was the same fight)... but the ref told them to stand up when roy just lay on him(arguably too fast), after his sub attempt. That's EliteXC for you though, plus alot of refs want them to constantly work on the ground or they will stand them.
Either way, Arlovski only had a weeks notice. Plus, I want roy to get leathered, came across in that episode there that he thought he knew better than the coaches, and didn't seem to want to learn.

| Re: TUF: Meet the Heavyweights You don't go into something like TUF, if you're not willing to really listen to the coaches.
I'm hoping Kimbo does well though, think alot of people are shooting him down because of the hype he's gained from street fighting on the net.

| Re: TUF: Meet the Heavyweights I've got a feeling that if Kimbo loses to Nelson its going to be a controversial one.

| Re: TUF: Meet the Heavyweights What makes you think that?
Rashad has picked this one well, Kimbo has to learn a ground game, as I don't imagine Roy will want to go punch for punch with him. Saying that, I'm not entirely impressed with his grappling game in an MMA point of view, as he would have been KO'd long before he got the chance to overturn Mir, or other guys i've watched.
Won't be surprised if something happens that causes Slice and Nelson fight to be postponed though. For the ratings you see

| Re: TUF: Meet the Heavyweights Don't know if they're intending to do it, but Kimbo is coming off as one hell of a babyface here. All the other guys seem like they're overconfident, and he's there genuinely to learn and prove himself.

| Re: TUF: Meet the Heavyweights Dana White was quoted on Yahoo as saying Kimbo has a job with the UFC whether he wins TUF or not.
There were a lot of 'rumors' flying around online that Kimbo did beter than expected on it, but I don't know how much stock you can put in that.

| Re: TUF: Meet the Heavyweights Missed the first episode but the 2nd has got to be one of the worst fights ive ever witnessed, both of them should have been DQd for being so absolutely pish and out of shape, what an absolute joke. Quote:
