| What and where do you train? So, as the title says, what martial art and where do you train in?
Looking for ideas for something to pick up, going along to a local jui jitsu class tommorow, to test the class, see how I feel with that.

I really enjoy it, but our club is getting a bit bogged down in politics which is making it less enjoyable these days. As a martial art i'd recommend it.

| Re: What and where do you train? Well started Ju jitsu on sunday there, and i'm in fuckin' agony, but in a good way. Can't wait to get back at it again, hopefully I stick at it too, always something i've been interested in.
Not entirely convinced with the group, but a few more weeks and i'll know if they is the class I want, or if i want to go it somewhere else.

| Re: What and where do you train? I had an mma fight lined up with someone that does that but cause i done my toe in ive had to pull out of two fights ragin, can fight now but no fights at my weight left. Think i'm going to have to wait till March now, i suppose the extra training will do me good though, also ive kinda got a belly now cause i couldnt do much after the surgery (could eat pizzas and pies though)

| Re: What and where do you train? many, many years ago i trained with duncan airlie james - predominantly kick-boxing but we did a lot of grappling and stuff too. probably would call it MMA now; he used the term "free boxing" which i think amounts to the same thing - i think he took much of his approach from BJJ and vale tudo so it's all the same kinda techniques as i typically see in "MMA" now.
he does still teach individuals but not classes, so i kinda fell out of training. he moved more towards promoting ringsports (we did scotlands first ever cage show, for example).
i'd love to get back into doing something but it's easy to put it off til "later" and "later" never seems to arrive...
