| Clarmenont's Captain Britain? Anyone read this? I've been wanting to get some Cap Britain (Moore in particular) for a while but this is the only trade I could find. I reckon it would be okay due to the fact he was writing it about the time he was on Xmen but I don't really want to sink £10-15 on it without a second opinion.
1. I'm finishing work at 1pm so I need your replies back before then.
2. If you don't think I should buy it then I need alternatives since you're SO fucking great at telling me what to think.

| Re: Clarmenont's Captain Britain? I'm going to send you a bouquet of 'Clar-me-nonts' on Valentine's Day, sweetheart. They have a delicious and unique 'chocolate rape fantasy' fragrance.
I haven't read it but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's probably shit because as soon as you hit puberty CC's writing becomes absolutely fucking unbearable. I tried to re-read the Maddy Pryor X-Men stuff for the first time in years the other week and I wanted to gouge my own eyes out and stick them up Claremont's loose-as-fuck fist-shaped arsehole.
Aww man, just noticed the tags, you got there first

| Re: Clarmenont's Captain Britain? Thanks Posh but I'd like an opinion from someone who actually likes comics.

| Re: Clarmenont's Captain Britain? I will never forgive Claremont for retconning Xorn. And I consider Bendis an accessory.
Not really, I couldn't give two fucks, Xorn was a stupid fucking character anyway.

| Re: Clarmenont's Captain Britain? I liked all that banter with the kids though. Basilisk playing Cludeo and talking about Professor Sex commiting the murder was a particular highlight. Quote:

| Re: Clarmenont's Captain Britain? The answer to this thread is no. Mildly amusing drivel that only gets a reprint off the back of Moore and Davis' re-invention.
Really, who gives a fuck about Xorn. He was created to fill a story niche, he did.
If you can't tell the difference between Morrison and Claremonts X-titles just from reading them then there is no continuity fix that'll make you feel better. |
