Re: Marvel's Secret Invasion

Just reading through New Avengers again because I'm too poor to buy comics and no longer possess the ability to steal them from the internet, and it occurred to me that we never did find out who 'The General' was who had Mastermind fuck up Bob Reynolds' mind. Between this and the fact that we briefly see Sentry fighting a Skrull invasion in both the New Avengers arc and in the time-travelling issue of Mighty Avengers, I'm starting to think this is connected.

Hahaha, wow. That's bold.
Apparently the skrull here is wearing the same outfit as Triathlon wears in 'The Initiative'. Triathlon, as well as training new recruits, is due to become the new 3D Man. Or something.

Re: Marvel's Secret Invasion

I just read New Avengers #40 and Mighty Avengers # 12 which both start to fill in some of the gaps in this story and the last page of new avengers was a shock to say the least.

I have also just found out that Marvel are doing Secret Invasion varients in most of their books this summer even if they don't link to the main story. An example of this is Uncanny X-men #497 which has 3 covers. One with a black background, one with a white background and one showing Cyclops to be a skrull.

This may or may not be a reveal of whats to come.

These skrull covers are approx a one in every twenty so will become very rare very fast and Marvel are not saying which books they are in you just have to keep your eyes open for them.

The last few pages of New Avengers #40 felt a bit crammed because of the first few pages being filled with stuff that was, for the most part, unnecessary. From the perspective that it was a background issue, I think Mighty Avengers did a better job of it to be honest.

Re: Marvel's Secret Invasion

Yeah, so far, you can. But the New Avengers and Mighty Avengers tie-ins have lovely Alex Maleev art and are basically flashbacks explaining how we got to where we are. If you're going to read/steal the main book, I'd recommend doing the same with NA and MA. The Nick Fury issue in particular is the best thing to come out of this crossover so far.

I think the only other tie-in I'm arsed about is 'Hercules' because I'm loving that book anyway and the idea of him putting together a GOD SQUAD to go fuck up the Skrull deities is hilarious.
