Marvel versus DC 2009

Going by the last comic read thread Marvel seems the choice publisher on here, granted not very scientific. what do folk find the pros and cons of each lot's output in these credit crunch days?

I'm liking the Batman reboot, most of it has been fresh. Blackest Night seems fun so far, more than Final Crisis was.

no thoughts? I've checked out some Dark Reign, it seems like a good idea spread too thin. I've always been a small story lover rather than a BIG FUCKING BIG STORY person. Daredevil can't be beat for that. Thor too, so far

Both Marvel & DC have kicked out some good shit in the last year. Marvel have probably got more tripe in their output though: Jeph Loeb's Hulk is a pure embarassment, Matt Fraction's X-men makes Joss Whedon's look coherently written and, is it just me, or has nothing happened in Dark Reign?

I like the concept, but so far they've done very little with it.

Blackest Night looks good so far, they should let Dave Gibbons write more Green Lantern Corps, his stories have been the best thing to happen to the comic in years.
