Marvel owns the rights to Miracleman/Marvelman now.

And here's a bogging pin-up by Quesada to prove it.

They got any plans to re-release the original? Still haven't got round to tracking it down.

Maybe they should get Loeb and Joe Q to do a 'reimagining' of the original. That would certainly rock MY baws off.

It's not entirely clear but I assume it covers the rights to all previously published stories.

Jeph Loeb's Red Marvelman vs Sentry: World War Sulk - Kid Marvelman and The Sentry argue over who is more of a fucknut. Coming this fall!

Anything Prof or Posh say in this thread is clinically designed to induce rage in all right-thinking people.

Wouldn't say no to a glossy reprint of Olympus mind. Y'know, seeing as its the best superhero comic ever written or drawn.

Todd Macfarlane's Man Of Miracles to the rescue!

Good to hear Mick Anglo is getting a kickback from these reprints though, 'bout time.

(And no, Quesada could never draw, and puts in even less effort since he became the boss.)

Yeah, I'd have to agree. I've always hated his art. His recent stuff has been mindblowingly awful.

Here's Cap taking a shit to celebrate returning to life:

And here's Spidey relieving the stress of his Aunt's imminent death by engaging in some light bondage/tentacle-assisted anal rape:

Actually can't stop laughing at that MacFarlane statue. Fucking amazing.

I don’t know how I missed this interview at the Forbidden Planet blog, but Alan Moore said this back in May:
“I mean, I believe that the Todd McFarlane thing, his ridiculous claims to the character have now been dropped, so it can move on. I believe that they’re going to be reprinting some of my stuff, but I’m not sure of all the details, I’ve just said, “Yeah, go ahead,” and all the money from the first book, from the first printing of the book, should go to Mick Anglo. They’ve also said that what if there’s a possibility of some animated Marvelman cartoons, and I’ve said, again, “Don’t put me name on them, and give all the money to Mick Anglo.” So I hope that some of it turns up in time to do Mick some good, because he’s a great artist, you know, the British comics scene would be poorer without him”
http://forbiddenplanet.co.uk/blog/20...th-alan-moore/
I’d say that pretty much speaks for itself. It looks like Moore’s stories will be reprinted. And like I mentioned above, I’d assume Gaiman has given the go-ahead to reprint his too, considering his close involvement in Marvel acquiring the rights.

Re: Marvel owns the rights to Miracleman/Marvelman now.

But are they going to publish the last four parts of The Silver Age? Pretty sure two issues of it are at least partially drawn already.

I need to know how it ends.

No one knows, that's the thing that's mental about all of this. It's a huge announcement that doesn't tell anyone anything they want to know. Too busy pimping Quesada's shite poster ($8).

Re: Marvel owns the rights to Miracleman/Marvelman now.

No reprints, no continuation, new series by Fraction and Quesada?

(Really wouldn't be surprised, it is Marvel after all.)

I reiterate, at least Mick Anglo's getting his money, given that he has owned the rights to the character all along and has never made a penny out of it.

Re: Marvel owns the rights to Miracleman/Marvelman now.

As we've discussed before, Gaiman and Marvel have been very buddy-buddy throughout this case (apparently '1602' was undertaken to raise funds for the legal fees!) so I'm sure you'll be seeing 'new' issues from him published by them.

Reprints seem likely, especially from what Alan Moore says above, but I guess they have some shit to deal with before they can announce that.

THEN the all-new Fraction/Land masterpiece

No official word on re-prints, but it sounded from Quesada's interview on CBR that the intention is there... Does anyone know where I could read these collections online? (Since £400 for a trade seems just a bit steep)
