Bitter pill to swallow. Sure, the possibility of Pixar doing animated films with Marvel characters is enticing but I wonder how long it will be before every Marvel title is a Disney focus group approved Power Pack/Incredibles clone.

| Re: Disney acquires Marvel Worried about this. Look at the crap DC has to deal with as a subsidiary of Warners, and consider Disney are a far more retarded company in general

I want to believe. | I believe alright. I believe that we'll see a Jonas Brothers meet the X-Men (By Mark Millar perhaps) and we can forget about seeing Howard The Duck again.

| Re: Disney acquires Marvel I think in the short term there isn't much going to happen.
In the longer term, once agreements start running out there may be big changes.
As for Howard the Duck, y'never know they might decide to do something insane like Donald Duck meets Howard the Duck.
Yeah, could get scary.

| Re: Disney acquires Marvel My concern is that what sets Marvel apart from the distinguished competition is going to be lost as the Disney folk look for Marvel's edgier output to make way for stuff that is more in line with the family and American image that Disney is trying to project or whatever marketspeak they're using to excuse their saccharine guff these days. Under the auspices of Disney, I can't see Marvel taking chances like they did in the past, such as letting people like Frank Miller or Garth Ennis on their books , giving the likes of Grant Morrison a hell of a lot of creative freedom on X-Men, or putting out anything as innovative as the X-Statix now they've got the 'Disney brand image' to protect as well.
