Troubled Souls (Garth Ennis, John Mcrea)

Anyone else read this beautiful, tragic piece. I've never seen a piece on 'the struggle' like it before or since. The sequel 'For a Few Troubles More' eventually mutated into 'Dicks', which couldn't be any more unlike the original but is still well worth checking out as its fucking hilarious. The original volume is a disturbingly bleak account of a protestant young man blackmailed into blowing up a British army Land Rover on a belfast street. Its so depressing sometimes it hurts, I would urge anyone with any illusions about the shit caused in the name of greed and bigotry to read this.

Despite my somewhat lacklustre review, I'm reading this again and it remains one of Ennis' best works.

Really fucking good.

I also like True Faith, doesn't write this 'straight' good anymore, except for War Stories.
