| Re: What comic did you last read? The series is, and always has been named for the first volume.
Go and research the nonsense you're spewing. Miller decided to rename it two decades after the original release, which ruined one of the most iconic graphic novel covers of the 90's. It was released in a bajillion different ways as Sin City before batshit old Frank Miller (The one who gave us DK2) decided that he knew better than young, immensely-talented Frank Miller (Who gave us Ronin) and retitled the first series for pretty much no reason.
If you'd read my first post here properly, you might be making more sense now. Kids today, dunno shit, muttermumblemutter |

Pure funny seeing you spew inaccuracies with absolute confidence though. |

| Re: What comic did you last read? I'll admit that I was unaware of the series originally being called as it was, and "Batshit" Miller, as you call him, dubbing the series as such later in the years.
As you say though, I was right about calling the series Sin City, as Miller, who made it official, and no doubt millions of fans call it today.
Someone is in denial.

| Re: What comic did you last read? How can you start a point with 'As you say' then claim I'm in denial about it? Oxymoronic methinks. Read the first sentence of my post before last, then shut up and go learn something unless you have anything salient to add.
Oh aye. Anyone out there not reading Freakangels?
You should be, just got the first collection, which will no doubt be retitled Weird shit in London by the year 2030 |

| Re: What comic did you last read? I admit defeat.
No doubt I'll still call it Sin City in the future, and possibly you'll come in going "batshit" crazy about how I, and countless others, have got it wrong.
Anyway, I'll stop there, mainly because I've based alot of my comic book reading on your recommendations. Yes, I'm as bad as a middle class woman who watches Opera.
Only my Opera is an angry MarkMono.

Only my Opera is an angry MarkMono. | Feel free, I don't mind other people calling it whatever they want. It just irks me that Miller thinks he has the right to do it, even if such moronic behaviour is characteristic of him in his dotage. Though as I keep saying, the series is named for the first volume, so there is nothing wrong with referring to the separate volumes as such, as long as you add a qualifier, such as:
Imagine if Ridley Scott decided to rename Blade Runner as Tears In The Rain at this point.
(Also, don't feel bad, I very rarely run into anyone who can outgeek me on comic trivia. Even at conventions.)

| Re: What comic did you last read? Call me ignorant or stupid, but surely when the guy created, wrote and drew the comics, surely he can call it what ever the hell he wants?
Or is it more to do with the idea of changing his mind, a la George Lucas and Star Wars, years later?
I guess I'm struggling here on how to put the conflict of thoughts in my mind into words, but who, if not the creator of that story/world etc, has the right to change anything?

| Re: What comic did you last read? Ignorant, not stupid.
And its the latter, I can't give a better hypothetical example than the Ridley Scott one in my last post. Sorry if it seems like I'm getting a little peeved at you, but you keep postulating things and asking questions I've generally answered in the post you're replying to.
When art is released into the public domain the concept, legal rights aside, belongs to the audience rather than the creator. This is given a further twist when an artist decides decades after the fact that they want to go back and change something small like, oh I don't know, the name.
Han Solo shot first.

| Re: What comic did you last read? I agree. I mean, if Ridley Scott did do that, then I would be very unhappy, but then I see it as his movie.
I see your point to an extent, as many people, including myself, will take various things and mold it into there own vision and ideas. Maybe I'm mistaking the legal side and artistic side a little too much.

I have the softcover and hardcover ('93 and '99 respectively) in front of me, and neither of them say A Hard Goodbye anywhere.
(Except of course as the original line in the story.)
I want more life FUCKER. |
