Re: What comic did you last read?

I have before me a copy of Criminal: The Sinners before me, and I just don't want to read it. Brubaker seems to have found the ultimate iteration of his particular brand of crime fiction with Criminal, but I just don't know if I'm self-destructive enough to keep reading it. It makes me goddamn miserable, the end of Bad Night is still rattling around my skull, the genius of which was that he picked up an earlier, minor character who actually seemed halfway decent, and dragged him into the dirt with the rest of us.

Part of me is fanboyishly excited to find out what has happened to Tracy since the end of Lawless, but I'm depressed enough as it is lately.

Re: What comic did you last read?

No Hero by Warren Ellis, ugly little bugger, miles better than the recent Vertigo 'Greatest Hits' which vaguely riffed on similar matters

Just ran through Top Ten again, I still only get about 5% of the background humour.

Re: What comic did you last read?

That's still pretty high for a Moore comic.

Wormwood: The Last Battle is fucking hilarious, but absolutely, positively not for the even slightly squeamish.

Re: What comic did you last read?

Recently re-read Templesmith's Singularity 7 for the first time in years. First series of comics I ever bought and still a firm favourite. I totally forgot about the ending though. Mad. Love it.

Nope, Garth Ennis' wormwood, if anything funnier and more demented than Templesmith's. (I do really like Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse but Templesmith does lift little overmuch of Ellis' writing in the execution of it.)

The Last Battle is the first issue of the second series. It's about the antichrist. He runs a TV network.

Re: What comic did you last read?

Classic I hope.

I had to read all of the new issue of Mighty Avengers to decide whether I hated it or not.

Funniest. Cosmic. Ever.
