| Re: What comic did you last read? claymores no. 8 manga and I'm taking Arm of Kannon no. 1 to work tonight. Not convinced it'll be good from the bit on the back cover, but it was cheap as chips. So we'll see. |

| Re: What comic did you last read? ^^^ seconded on Posh's point.
There's just a lot of comics that do the same thing and the artwork a lot better IMO. Sorry! |

| Re: What comic did you last read? OK - I am giving comics a go and have started with Watchmen. It is really rather good. Now though I feel I may have spoiled the film coming out this year and perhaps should avoid it.
Being a comic virgin, recommendations would be good. 30 Days of Night appeals. Worth getting and, if so, where do I start. Seriously - I know nothing about comics and have decided this will change.
Cheers

However, this does not answer my plea for recommendations Mr Posh!

Cheers | 30 Days of night is a nice wee bit of genre fiction, more Alan Moore might be worth seeking out if you like Watchmen. The likes of From Hell, V for Vendetta etc (I'd reccomend his Doctor Who stuff but that might be a bit too geeky ). Grant Morrissons Animal man you might enjoy. I'd aslo reccomend the Boys or preacher but not sure if you'd like those. |

| Re: What comic did you last read? It's all downhill after 'Watchmen'.
I would suggest 'V For Vendetta' next, seeing as you're enjoying 'Watchmen'.
Keir (sp? ) has preempted me because I crashed while replying, but I was going to recommend GMo's 3 'Animal Man' trades (If you can find them! The second one seems to be out of print just now, maybe ebay or whatever), the perfect combination of weirdness and heart&soul.
I'm the wrong person to ask though, I mainly just read superhero pish. Quote:

DC are responsible for most of the stuff we've recommended above, including 'Watchmen'.
A lot of my favourite straightahead superhero characters are Marvel i.e Daredevil, Captain America, etc but DC's Vertigo line of 'mature fiction' is probably responsible for the majority of the most acclaimed 'highbrow' stuff of the last twenty years.
