All of Moore's Swamp Thing is gospel. The very last issue (Return Of The Good Gumbo) is still the most joyous work Alan Moore has yet produced.
Better than Watchmen, if thats a handy point of reference for the masses.

The single issue stories are among the greatest ever produced within the format: Loving The Alien, Strange Fruit, My Blue Heaven, all classics.
I may just stop reading comics until Morrison and Quietly's run on Batman & Robin is done.* 'Mon Morrison, prove you're not just a useless prick who only references philosophers mentioned in Ministry albums.

It's probably been since the early to mid-90's since I last read a Swamp Thing.Having a wee browse about I'm sure my ex would have started me with the Alan Moore run, and I probably read a few of the Rick Veitch issues too. Definitely nothing after round about '96 or '97 - think I had branched off and was buying my own comics then, more so than what my ex was recommending.
mark millar's run is good. sometimes i wonder where that millar went.

Powers 1-10, cannae find 11 anywhere
Both Morrison and Millar's stories have varied over the years, to the point where you get the impression that they're being deliberately misleading about who wrote what on Swamp Thing. Morrison definitely sketched out a series of story arcs for Millars run, but its hinted that he ghost-wrote parts of it too.
