| Ok I'm going to say this Once and once only.
Cryotec Does Not Play GOTH,
so any requests for goth songs will be giggled at. |

| Ah. Then I was misinformed. Scratch me off the going list. Sorry Blondie... (Wonders when synthpop and industrial automatically got classified as goth music...) |

| Sorry...requesting industrial tracks a bit stronger than the mild Apop and VNV thats been played all around the world overly much and being told "oh, thats goth stuff. I laugh" (paraphrased, obviously), just reeks of something I want absolutely nothing to do with.
Sorry. Effigy, I talked to you a month or two back..sorry, but Tailz seems to have convinced me to stay away from yer night. Cheers, n good luck with it. |

| I have no problem playing songs that are stronger then the new apop and vnv stuff, In fact that is what I do. But if you took my rant personaly then dont, While some of your requests are goth (Deine Lakein) some of it wasent. I was realy getting at the people who have asked for Bands like mesh and type-O.
And I'll probubly have a rant later if more people ask me for new metal.

| On a more serious note, what is the policy on Electroclash music? Nowhere around here will play anything other than Fischerspooner

| Back to the point of the thread.........
Could you play Consolidated - You Suck
And I know its not ebm/electro, but I like it and think it would fit in well with the nights theme |

| OK, I'm starting to get the feeling this whole 'goth' label is becoming somehting of an issue to people, so I'm going to try a bit of clarification.
Cryotec is basically intended as an electro/industrial night, mainly cos thats what Tailz and myself listen to, and we felt that there wasn't anything in Glasgow that targeted that particular market, and thats no disrespect to Bedlam. As far as this 'goth' thing goes, its pretty much down to the individuals defenition of what goth is. Put it this way, we've never played Bauhaus, and I'll pretty much stake my life that we never will. But I regularly play Battery, L'ame Immortelle and various other bands that some would class as 'goth'. And for what its worth, Papazeb - I've played Deine Lakein tracks before, and Wolfsheim was layed last time round, and see no reason to avoid playing them in future. The only thing I'll say is that I tend to play that stuff earlier on in the night.
Apologies if this post sounds a bit on the frosty side, but I'm not in the best frame of mind right now. As far as I'm concerned, if u ask for it and I've got it, I'll do my best to play it. If I ain't got it, well, you can pretty much figure out the rest for yourselves. And I promise to be less of a miserable bastard by the time Cryotec comes round... |

| Effigy, you explain it quite well and non-frostily. But I won't come because o that twat Tailz sounding like an arrogant prat.
Its bad pr to insult new punters, imho.
Bauhaus. Definitely gothy. Wolfsheim..borderline..its straddling the fence, ditto Deine (but my request was quite industrially yummy)
Been around most of the US's best industrial cities/goth cities when I was younger, so I figured I was fairly into distinction. Voltaire's "Oh My Goth!" album is just a personal weakness of mine. Technically its gypsy music in the spirit of Dead Can Dance, only named for the comic book the guy wrote to promote his material. Takes the piss outta the goth scene quite a bit.
And..well, thats me for this forum section now. Cheers, hope it works out well for ya. If Tailz ever gets dropped as a dj, I'll come on by. |

| Cheers for the comments mate, have to say I'm sorry you're not gonna come along - new faces are probably the best way for us to broaden out what we're playing. I'll be posting up setlists and stuff in the near future, so hopefully we can change your mind.
As for your requests, I only recognised a couple of them anyway - lack of education on my part! Only been doing the industrial thing the last 3 - 4 years, so still building up the catalogue.
I've said this before, but I'm happy to take feedback off of anyone - positive, negative or just plain insulting. It takes a lot to offend me and when it comes down to it, I just wanna try and make sure people have a good night.
Mr Zeb sir, hopefully I'll catch up with you next time you're at Bedlam, try and pick your brains over a few things. |

| Don't attend Bedlam either. Well, still haven't. Too many people whose opinions I value keep warning me away from the place + distance + having done a few codj stints for the bedlam crowd giving me an idea of some of the tunes = not entirely certain I want to travel all that way for it. More into "nu-goth" (heh) than the older more classic stuff, and the Bedlam crowd seems to feel more mature and into the classics.
New Flesh and DV8 every week though, I'll just keep giving the Rev Scapegoat my industrial tunes to get em played. Ask for me, or get Blondie to introduce us again (Or Sam and Richard, they generally know where I be) |

| Jeff, Tailz is a perfectly nice guy, I think you've just gotten off on the wrong foot. Honestly I prefer Effigy's sections of the night, but Tailz has generally been good with requests etc and I think it's a bit harsh to not give cryotec a try becoz of this thread. Your choice of course however, do what you feel best about (and there I was hoping for another person to join the ranks of the 'cryotec but no bedlam' phenomenom)
Btw, you still need to email me back about the mp3-age you're after
