Thumbs up Cryotec Xmas Comment

The xmas night at Strawberry Fields was my first ever experience of Cryotec or a good industrial electro night in general. I've got to say I really enjoyed myself and I was pleasantly surprised. Roll on the next one!

Re: Cryotec Xmas Comment

My only complaint was getting a blast of smoke right in the face early on, causing me to still be coughing up very odd stuff...
Actually I didnt like Strawberry Fields as a venue. Probably because I'm used to the ickleness of a normal cryotec at RG's or Solid. Or maybe it's the ungodly bar prices

Re: Cryotec Xmas Comment

Well, it was my first time in Strawberry Fields, so i haven't seen any of the other venues yet. I have to agree about the bar prices mind you, i bought a round as soon as i arrived and i was almost down a tenner right away.

Re: Cryotec Xmas Comment

It was so awful I had to drink Reefs and hope nobody saw me. Thankfully pouring them into a pint glass and skulking around in the shadows covered it up nicely
I'm kinda hoping we dont find ourselves in Strawberry Fields again, but if the same sort of numbers start turning up as did the other night, there's no way we could stay in RG's. Which is a shame. The cheapish Velvet and hot bar staff were making me feel very at ease in there...

Re: Cryotec Xmas Comment

yeah it was good. Only caught the last song or two from the second band and then the last one. All the bands were pretty good from what i heard and gordon and liam were playing good tracks as ever.

sam seemed to enjoy drinking those reefs if he's honest

Think the next one is on the 16th jan in RG's, which happens to be the night of my last exam

Nonsense, it was like poison. Poison I say!
I've got one more after the 16th, but taking the evening off studying will hardly be the end of the world.

Re: Cryotec Xmas Comment

Cheers for the feedback guys
Most comments we've heard so far have been pretty positive, certainly the bands seemed happy and Liam and I were relieved that things went off pretty much without a hitch. I gotta take my hat off to people that organise this sorta thing on a regular basis - I ain't been that stressed in a long time!

Apologies for the drinks prices though, I agree 100% with what you're saying. Unfortunately we didn't find out about the prices till the Saturday, and as we were running the night as a private hire, we had no influence on getting promos on sale.

As for the future, definitely gonna organise another concert/club night, though it'll be a few months down the road. Maybe a Strawberry's (they're about to undergo refurbishment) maybe somewhere else.

Until then we'll be returning to our current home of RG's, January nights are Friday 16th and 30th, February to be confirmed as their lease is currently up for sale (god I hope the new owners let us stay on. I like the venue and really don't want to face another move).

So, big thanks to everyone who came along at Christmas, glad you enjoyed the night, and any comments, suggestions for future nights, feel free to post your thoughts

I thought the whole night was pretty good. Music set was good and bands were on top form. Only fault was the bloody dancefloor!!!! Not good for Transmuter Boots! I fell twice, podiums were fun though

Here's to more and I shall go to RGs this year! Lx

Re: Cryotec Xmas Comment

I think I'll def be along on the 16th, there's a big enough gap for me to get my studying done elsewhere. Besides, passing exams and getting a degree is for sell-outs
I hope we dont have to leave RG's too, I like it there. Not sure why, it just feels a lot more comfy than the solid ever did. The cheap velvet has replaced the cheap smiths not too badly at all. The main problem i'd have with moving to a bigger venue is that it's likely you guys would be tucked away in a wee booth somewhere rather than the current set-up which feels much more informal.

Oh, and im STILL coughing like mad and it's been over a week
