| Re: Scotland's National Anthem...? What can I say
(We only started singing it as a rugby song in 1974 and then the SRU adopted it as the 'official' Scottish rugby anthem in the 90's)
Although I think I am right in saying that Scottish fans used to try and sing it over God Save the Queen in protest...?

Having seen Flower of Scotland sung by both men and women I can safely say I've never noticed any noticable difference in how rousing it is.

Being used for even the past two years would still give it more relevance than starting afresh with a comittee chosen thing. |

| Re: Scotland's National Anthem...? Scotland doesnt really have an official one anyway, does it?
I know the brave is tagged as official, but I dont think there is.
Fuck, if every nationality dissected and chastised their anthems, they'd been *none appropriate to modern day.
*not meant literally every single single single one

We indeed do not have a national anthem in an official capacity but I can't remember a time when flower of scotland wasn't sung or think there will be a time in the future when its replaced (At sporting events anyhow).

Fair enough chief each to their own a parapalegic monkey could wail an approximation of the tune (apparently its quite a similar sound to the bagpipes...) and I would still be singing away at the top of my lungs... (its probably a good thing I don't encounter many parapalegic monkeys...)
