What can I say

(We only started singing it as a rugby song in 1974 and then the SRU adopted it as the 'official' Scottish rugby anthem in the 90's)

Although I think I am right in saying that Scottish fans used to try and sing it over God Save the Queen in protest...?

all those songs sung by that lady on the orchestra site i didnt like, to be rousing they need to be a strong masculine voice imo.

I disagree. Having seen Flower of Scotland sung by both men and women I can safely say I've never noticed any noticable difference in how rousing it is.

Scotland doesnt really have an official one anyway, does it?
I know the brave is tagged as official, but I dont think there is.

Fuck, if every nationality dissected and chastised their anthems, they'd been *none appropriate to modern day.

Quite true (at least for the majority of traditional European anthems...)

We indeed do not have a national anthem in an official capacity but I can't remember a time when flower of scotland wasn't sung or think there will be a time in the future when its replaced (At sporting events anyhow).
