| Re: The Orange Walk I'm kinda of the opinion that a peaceful march can never really be a bad thing and the whole "politics" of the thing are more laughable than anything else.
However it's loud, does my tits and and it's murder to get past/around. So for my own personal reasons I wouldn't miss it.
But the football season's done and what else can Rangers fans do?

About the nicest thing I can say about the Orange Walk is that I haven't seen one in years. |

I support anyone's right to march peacefully but acts like that can hardly be referred to in any way shape or form as peaceful

On the point of the (provocative) routes being "traditional" - at certain points so was stealing black people and making them slaves; denying women the vote; burning people for witchcraft... why does anyone buy that argument?

| Re: The Orange Walk You don't really expect anyone off here to support it though, about the closest you get is the football lot (Not the Bearsden mob, the genuinely working-class ones.) decrying the repititiveness of saying how shite Orange Walks are.
Which isn't really an opposing vote. |

| Re: The Orange Walk I love the Walks! Enjoyed my time marching in them. Gutted it was going to Bellahoustin park this year and not the Green.
I always enjoy reading these threads, nice comments from people who think their cool for saying "Naplam the fuckers" because they made them "late" or "woke them up".
Unlucky for yer mate, but that's from the arseholes the Orange Order don't want at the Walks. Their the "bigoted" arseholes, not the Marchers.
Oh aye, there was a Republican march on saturday aswell. But aye, if you wanted to know people opinions just search past threads.

Well if you want to term it as (I assume is implied) Europeans stealing Africans anyway. There is a tradition of the rich making slaves of the folk who lived on their land (serfdom and the like) I suppose.
That said I have to agree the "traditional route" arguements pretty shite.

Yes, you guessed it, the Orange walk!
But really, my brother-in-law was in the orange lodge, and I don't agree with it as much because of the way he used to be. He bought his daughter up to appreciate anything blue or orange. She wouldn't even drink out of a fucking green cup! |

I was thrilled to discover that when my step-son's trip to the swimming baths was disrupted by the march, his father got him watching it go past. |
