Slow news day in BBC land?
Also, MB's consistent use of “onely”, which I always read as “one-li” makes reading the arguments a bind.
If you're going to make spelling easier, at least come up with spellings which are easier.

| Re: Group Campaigns to have English Spelling Simplified What a stupid idea. Surely more of an effort should be made to improve the standard of english in schools rather than just dumb it down. |

You can't force it, though, it happens slowly and naturally, and you certainly can't change every word to a phonetic spelling based on the dialect of Edinburgh. | Fixxxed |

Think there were a couple of biggies in the 60s or 70s? Not sure but there might even have been a political party with this as a policy? Can't remember, can't be arsed checking.

| Re: Group Campaigns to have English Spelling Simplified I do hope they have an alternative spelling for "useless ignoramus", it'll be needed when it's time to write up their obituaries.
In any case, if you really hate spelling things out that much, why not just go one further and start speaking in binary? Damn under-achievers. |
