Current Affairs, Debate & PoliticsEveryone has an opinion so why not post it here and let's get a debate going.
Fact is, the whole thing has arisen from confusion over culture and tradition (on both sides). The sudanese people who complained (wrongly) thought the teacher was taking the piss out of them and their prophet. And the teacher had so little knowledge of the host culture that she didn't realise the significance.
And now you've got wanks from the BNP claiming that this is proof we need to get rid of all muslims and immigrants (which is as simplistic and intolerant as the Sudanese authorities have been). Irony x1000.
