Yeah, after 9/11 a bunch of laws were passed which could possibly negatively impact on civil liberties. Next to fuck all as come of it, though. It's certainly not worth our while worrying about it. It's barely worth the while of your average American worrying about it.

The US government have been fucking with 'constitutional' rights since at least the McCarran Act back in the 50s, if not long before that. Insiduous conspiracy? Probably. But if it is then it's a lot more wide-reaching than the odd act here and amendment there, so signing a few petitions and painting a few placards isn't going to do much to change things.

Given the spotted history of NATO I wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones doing the 'invading' in the first place.
