£50billion Thief Gordon Brown

Gordon Brown today outlined his plans to steal £50Billion by letting the banks have it to help them out of their self enginbeered crisis.
The theif, Gordon Brown, will surely now secure himself a job for life with a top bank, if not at the head of the banking cartel.
The theif and his henchmen in the treasury not only have paid their own salaries but made the leading bankers in this country Billions better off. Whatever they say, that money will disappear and this country will not see it again.

Three cheers for the theif Gordon Brown !!!
What a lucky Bastard - one of the biggest robberies in Britains history and the bastard will get away with it !

the bbc are running this story too but not with the same truth I invested into it.

Two points:

1. How exactly is releasing money to the treasury "stealing"?
2. The credit crunch is not self-engineered, it's a global domino effect originating from the USA.

It is initially offering 50 billion pounds worth of gilt-edged securities but the size of the scheme will depend on how much banks need to get lending going again -- and how much they're willing to stump up in costly collateral.
I'm no expert (paging Addy - assuming he's not snowed under in the wiki crisis ) but two things struck me in that article. The mention of collatoral - which I assume implies paying something back for one. Also the fact that itsd a measure to attempt to boost the economy and try to lessen the effects of the credit crisis. Which is probably not too bad a thing for plebs like me...

Re: £50billion Thief Gordon Brown

He isn't a thief, the £50bn is just spare change from Forbes' wallet that fell down the back of No. 10's sofa the last time they had afternoon tea.

Collateral simply means a sum put aside for investment or a share of an investment

Something of value--securities, evidence of deposit or other property--pledged to support the repayment of an obligation. Also one of the Five "Cs" used in determining a loan applicant's credit worthiness.

Exactly how does pouring 50billion into the banks help shore up an economy ? You wont see a penny of it, the 50 million is simply money taken out of the tax system and put into private financial deals that the public will not benifit from. There is no garauntee the money will come back and so many loopholes anyway they will simply steal iit - It isnt to boost the economy its a fuckin thank you so the bankers will still support the government !

Because that money is taxpayers money and they will give it to the banks
FREE !!! and we will not see a penny back I absolutely garauntee it - not a fuckin penny and there wont even be a photograph of the pissup the top bankers are having right now because they win!

That was the fault of the banking industry!
Who know no borders they are global capitalists,,,, remember ?

I thought the whole point of this was so that the public DO benefit, as it means that when I or anyone else goes for a loan or a mortgage, the bank is willing to provide it, and wont instantly say NO! because it might be too risky and all that guff. Not too sure though, but thats what I took it to mean, but then again, I'm not too clued up on all this

Re: £50billion Thief Gordon Brown

Here Crusher, you should sent this thread to the Sun or the Mail. They'd hire you straight away with a sensationalist title like that.

Personally, I don't see what's wrong investing £50 billion in a (probably vain) attempt to stabilise the economy.

That is just the point I am making. I dont see a problem with this deal EXCEPT that it will be in vain because the banks will just swallow the money and walk off with it - like a heron with a fish. Now when Brown leaves 10 Downing Street and takes up a situation in the city - you remember this thread when they announce that he is effectively at the top of the banking cartel - political leader of the banking industry. That 50 Billion bought him a shit load of power no prime minister has got. That is how these arseholes do that - they push stolen public money into the private sector- they want power not money - money just buys power!

Look at the deal Tony blair got after he stole billions to buy his way to the top of it all !
And more to the point look at John Major and the way he stole Billions to give to Qinetiq

Look at how Prescott secured jobs in the building industry by selling off NHS property and school playing fields cheap to his mates who now are repaying millions to him
