BBC News 24 missed out the "V" on this name yesterday, gave me a chuckle.

Only one of the v's in his name is pronounced like a v anyway. Other is an ff sound.

I meant on the actual headline that goes along the bottom of the current story. Was something like "Medvede takes power" or something. Not meaning the pronunciation.

That's nothing, you should hear the (American) commentators during the gymnastics when discussing Elena (Mikhayilovna) Zamolodchikova; and I've met her coach, who, I'd be lying if I didn't admit to practicing her name a few times quickly, as I saw she was approaching me haha. I ended up just calling her by her first name anyway, obv, but she was a nightmare to introduce folk to, initially! (Nadezha Maslennyikova).
