| Welcome To Philadelphia.. Just dont piss off the local cops... Quote:
A half-dozen police officers kicked and beat three men pulled from a car during a traffic stop as a TV helicopter taped the confrontation.
Aerial video captures Philly officers in a confrontation with shooting suspects.
The video, shot by WTXF-TV, shows three police cars stopping a car Monday, two days after a city officer was shot to death responding to a bank robbery.
The tape shows about a dozen officers gathering around the vehicle. About a half-dozen officers hold two of the men on the ground. Both are kicked repeatedly, while one is seen being punched; one also appears to be struck with a baton.
The third man is also kicked and ends up on the ground.
"On the surface it certainly does not look good in terms of the amount of force that was used," Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said. "But we don't want to rush to judgment."
The officers were responding to a report of a shooting nearby, police said. It was not immediately clear what preceded the confrontation. http://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/wireStory?id=4801701 | Nasty one...

I know a guy who used to live in Philadelphia, but after some trouble his mum decided it'd be best if he moved elsewhere, I think he ended up living with his aunt and uncle some where.

At what point did I even attempt to justify it?! All I said is I want to hear the entire story, clearly what the cops are doing is wrong and a massive overuse of force. However I want to hear the entire story rather than just a videoclip of the incident.
Obviously news reports will fill in the missing information, what happened, who the people on the ground are, why the fuck there's a million cops there, and what's their excuse.
Not justifying at all. Do you always jump on people when you think there is a tiny chance they don't agree with you Mr. Politics?

Needing to hear the whole story sounds a lot like your allowing room for the scenes on the video to be explained reasonably... Also the "before I pass judgement" bit further implies you are unsure that the events are unjustifiable...

| Re: Welcome To Philadelphia.. I've heard plenty of stories about the same thing happening in Scotland. The Police may be the good guys in theory, but the sun certainly does not shine out of their arses.

So, in conclusion, still a fucking snake.

I stated that it looks very bad, and still hold to that. It looks obscenely bad. But I want to know the other circumstances around it rather than basically a YouTube style clip.

So, in conclusion, still a fucking snake. | Reminds me of story that my Guidance Teacher from Secondary told me. His Brother is a reasonably high-ranking Polis in Glasgow, and the pair of them got tickets for a big old firm game a few years ago. Anyway, they were sitting in the Rangers side, and when the game finished they ended up both getting hit about by the coppers outside. Until my teacher's brother pulled out his warrent card...
Having never actually been to a football match let alone an old firm game, I have no idea if this is par for the course, but it seems out of line. I doubt a teacher and a policeman who could have lost his job for arseing around were playing silly buggers.
